Hello, I am going back to an older question. We had set up two different payment types, one for Canada with no address question and one for worldwide sales with limited countries using an address question. Now we are back to just selling for anywhere and can turn the address question back on, but need to charge each province’s taxes for sales in Canada based on where they are buying from. I had added custom tax modifiers to each event – I think because of our more complicated dual payment choices, but now we are wondering if we can turn that off and just have EE handle the taxes using an address question? Is that possible or do we need to keep all the modifiers on?

See example: https://www.novalda.com/events/icf-core-competencies-coach-mentoring-spring-2023-monday/

thanks for your help.

Hi Kerry,

We don’t have an officially method for charging different taxes based on state although we do have a snippet that can do it for you based on the state question:

https://gist.github.com/joshfeck/bc4ffb1d4417258fce3ce32e00d25ea8

Add that snippet to a site, register onto a fixed-price ticket and then select different states for Canada in the address group, does it do what you are looking for?
