Hello
I am having issues with Event Espresso not applying the tax profile when processing a ticket with PayPal Standard. I have the appropriate tax rates enter with PayPal, however in talking with their support folks, they said on the Event Espresso side, the tax profile needs to be activated to connect with PayPal. I do not see where this is possible on the plug-in and would appreciate help in this regard.
It turns out that in EE4 taxes can be applied at each ticket level. When you set a ticket to be taxable in EE, EE will send the tax amount to PayPal as a tax amount line item.
You can set the tax rate in Event Espresso > Pricing > Edit Sales tax. Then when you set up the tickets, you click the gear icon and check the box next to This ticket is taxable.
If you plan on making all the tickets taxable, you set that ticket to
use this new ticket as a default ticket for any new events . This way any new tickets will have the tax box ticked.
Will this work for you or are you looking to apply different tax rates based on the buyer location?
Thank you, but we need to apply a tax per province. Last time I questioned this, Lorenzo said we needed to switch to PayPal Std and set up the tax profiles there. Which we did but PayPal says we need to have the tax profile on Event Espresso activated so that it will recognize the profiles on PayPal.
This is has been elevated from a support ticket and passed to the development team to add a new feature. The development is currently in progress. When we have something that’s ready for testing, we’ll be sure to send you a copy of the feature branch.
