1) Does EE4 Promotions and Discount Codes seamlessly integrate with an open event that is currently accepting registrations? In others words, will I run into any problems with a current event (or have customizations to do other than creating the codes) if I install the add-on in the middle of an open registration period?
2) If a customer wants to switch their ticket type after having already paid. What is the best way to handle that? Is there way to switch the ticket type? Or do I have to delete the old transaction and registration and then create a new registration with the new ticket type?
For the promotions add-on, it can be enabled even if you have existing events. Note that it does not automatically enable any specific type of promotion when it is activated.
For example, if you wanted to create a promotion code for 15% off, then you would want to create than through the promotions editor and then enable it for a specific event or group of events or all existing and new events.
If you need to change the ticket type, then you would need to cancel the registration and create a new one through the WordPress dashboard:
