Switch to PayPal Express results in error message

I’ve been trying to switch to PayPal Express but when we get to the “Proceed to Finalize Registration” button we get this error message:

“An error has occurred:
It appears the Off Site Payment Method was not configured properly.
Please try again or contact XX for assistance.”

I have gone through and taken out extra spaces; triple checked the API username, password, and signature; and gone over your “PayPal Express Payment Gateway” documentation with a fine-toothed comb. Still can’t get it to work.

What am I missing? We are running version 4.9.36.p.

Hi there,

A good first thing to check is make sure that Debug Mode On? is set to No on the Event Espresso > Payment Methods > PayPal Express settings page.

Another thing to verify is the server has the PHP cURL module enabled.
