After migrating our site to a new hosting company, we had you reset our license and entered it again. The green key icon shows up for awhile but turns red again before long. Thanks in advance for your help |

Hi Rosemary, Is this site a multi-site installation of WordPress? — |
No. Just one site that was on Bluehost and is now on Siteground. |
Hi Rosemary, I checked the stats from your account and it’s not showing errors currently, but there were some invalid API key errors from last month where a key was set for 37.60.247.100/~rosemax6/lfks. Has the key been removed from that site? |
I don’t know how to tell! Nor do I even know what that refers to. LOL However, I no longer have an account at Bluehost where we had the site hosted before switching to Siteground a few weeks ago. Could the key still exist on a site that was hosted somewhere else? |
If bluehost still have the site active then yes, although it would be very unusual for them to do so. It looks like that domain was the temporary domain assigned to your site when you migrated to SiteGround, notice if you click this link: http://37.60.247.100/~rosemax6/lfks/ It loads some of the content from your site content. Viewing this http://37.60.247.100/ Shows it’s a SiteGround server. If you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. Make no changes to the key and just save does it show a green icon?
Yes it looks like it could since there’s still a website that runs Event Espresso hosted at 37.60.247.100/~rosemax6/lfks. Can you log into that site and deactivate the Event Espresso plugin? |
Tony, I think you’re right about the temporary site at Siteground. When I log in to wp-admin there, it redirects to the current site. I’ll contact Siteground support to see what can be done. |
Also to Tony: Yes, I can do this (your comment below), and it saves for awhile and then goes back to a red key icon. YOU: If you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings. |
So that’s happening even if you do that right now? Did you contact SiteGround? Just wondering if they had any feedback. |
Yes, it’s still happening, and yes, I contacted Siteground. I’ll check with them about the progress of that ticket. |
Looking over your account I can see your key is currently registered to the correct domain so I’m assuming the key is green. If we then receive a ping from another domain (the temp domain) it may cause your key to invalidated again, I’ll keep an eye on your account but could you let us know when the icon turns red again please. |
It’s red again right now. Siteground says the temp site and the current site are one and the same. I’m wondering if you could just give me a new license key to use on the current site. Here is what Siteground sent me: I.e. the plugin probably has stored a record somewhere in the database or on their server where the key is bound to the temporary URL instead of the domain name. Their Support Team should explain how this record can be deleted or updated (if there is no such option in the menus of the plugin, they should clarify how to manually change it e.g. which database table, which entry, which value to change and how etc.). For example, I found the following post on their website regarding the same issue: https://eventespresso.com/topic/change-domain-in-license-key/ I hope this helps. Please try the suggested solution in the above link or contact their Support Team again and let us know if any server-side changes are required or if you need assistance with anything.” |
Hi Rosemary, Do you happen to have either of these plugins (or similar) installed on your website? The reason I ask is because we did some checking, and some of the requests that are coming from your site are using this key, |
No. I don’t have any plugin like that. This is getting very mysterious – I’m hearing Twilight Zone music! |
May I ask which other plugins are installed that are not from Event Espresso? |
I am happy to do that, but I don’t understand why the exact same page worked find at Bluehost a few weeks ago and then not at Siteground after migration to that new host. If there were no plugin conflicts before on BH, why would there be conflicts on SG with the exact same configurations? Use this link to see plugins used. |
Sever configurations will vary which may affect specific plugins. Can you try deactivating the Elegant themes updater plugin, then save your EE license key, then check to see if the indicator icon stays green? |
