Hello, my Support License Key has been on “Reset pending” status for a few months now. Please reset or do whatever you need to in order to have the Support License Key have the correct status. I also cannot get my support license key to validate in WordPress. Thank you. Polyamerican.org

Hi there,

I’m sorry for the trouble, it looks there may have been some crossed wires here, in your previous thread you asked to cancel the request, so we left it as is.

I have reset your license key now and you should be able to re-activate it on your domain.

I notice you are using WordPress multi-site, there is a known issue with saving license keys on multisite in that that when you save the general setting, the key saves but the field may show up blank.

The key does actually save and should work fine, but you will need to make sure you insert the key into that section before saving the general settings after that. Otherwise you’ll save the field with a blank field and on your next save EE will show no license key has been installed.

I tried what you suggested, but the key still will not activate on the site – I cannot upgrade from within WordPress. I am activating it from within the site itself, not for the entire network. Does this make a difference? Should I activate it for the entire network instead?

Hi Lawrence,

You should be able to activate EE on a single site or network.

I’ve assigned a new to key to your account, can you try using that please?

Be sure to check for whitespace before/after the key when pasting.

Thank you. I tried the new key, made sure there were no whitespaces, and still the same result – a blank box with a red key.

The warning message on the plugins page has disappeared, but I am still on version 4.6.27.p, and it’s not reporting that a new update is available.

That’s strange.

I can see your key has been assigned to the domain and it now should work. If you add the key to general settings and save once again, does the update show within Dashboard -> Plugins?

I’ll check with the developers as to what might be causing this.

Sorry – it’s still not happening. Please let me know what you can find out. Thanks

Hi,

Would you happen to be using any security plugins? I’m wondering if one of those or a firewall is blocking the communication for the plugin updates system.

For clarity, you would only see the update notice if the key is green which means it has activated correctly.

Could you try manually updating by deactivating Event Espresso 4 and removing it?

Then download the latest copy from your account page here:

https://eventespresso.com/users/p01yn3s1n/#ee4-downloads

You could then upload and activate the zip file through the WP plugins screen.

While it has only been a day, how long does it usually take to reset the license key?

During the forum open hours it will usually be within the hour.

I have reset your license key. You will receive an email with instructions on how to re-assign your key, please follow those instructions and your key should work fine.

I can’t get the green key. I copy-pasted the license key.
I made sure there are no whitespaces before or after the key.

I have reset your key again.

Is this a Single or WordPress MultiSite install?

Multisite with Buddypress

License activated on the right domain based on my account here on eventespresso.com the license key is not showing.
The EE4 and all addons is showing only on the network administrator plug-ins although the seem to be functional on the subsites.

Hi, this is due to multisite. Please see the following explanation from a team member:

Hi Lorenzo,

I reviewed the link.

The user who brought it up apparently can do automatic updates but has to check on his license.

I understand that a way I can deal with this is to update manually.

Thank you.

Raffy, why are you hijacking my support post? Please stop using this one and start your own. What makes you think that I want to get emailed all of your support requests and answers? Also, Event Espresso Support, please get your users to stop this post hijacking and to start their own support requests. Thank you.

Hi Lawrence,

I am not aware that a post in a customer support forum can be hijacked.

I assumed that the statement “It is likely that your question has been asked by another member. Try running a couple searches before creating a support post.” also meant that you can join a forum discussion about the same issue.

I would also appreciate it if the support team can clarify the policy about this case. In any case, I would gladly start a separate thread.

Hi Raffy, I don’t think you need a policy clarification for this issue. You always start your own thread for your own issue. The statement “It is likely that your question has been asked by another member. Try running a couple searches before creating a support post.” does not mean that you should join that same forum discussion about the same issue, but just search to try to find an answer. If you can’t find the answer, kindly start your own thread. That way, other Event Espresso Users do not receive unwanted emails about your problem. Thank you.

Hi guys,

We do prefer for users to start their own threads with any issues they may have, it keeps threads easier to follow for each user and we can troubleshoot each individual users issue separately (and each user then receives notifications of issues relevant to their own thread).

The statement:

“It is likely that your question has been asked by another member. Try running a couple searches before creating a support post.”

Is to help encourage users to search the forum to see if there is already a solution posted for their problem, if not you can start up a new thread and we will work through it there.

We do often get the same user using multiple account to post within the same thread, so try to accommodate that a little but in this instance I should have split the thread into its own. I apologize for the additional notifications you have received due to me not doing that.

So with that said…

@raffy
if you are still having issues could you please start up your own thread ๐Ÿ™‚

@lawrence are you still having issues updating?

Did you update manually?

Lawrence Le Lievre

Actually, yes – I updated the plugin manually as you suggested, but I still can’t get rid of the red key in General Settings. Thanks

Hi, automatic updates are not currently available on WP Multisite. If you are using WP multisite, then you’ll need to manually update:
