I am a web developer helping my client. She created this forum topic: The EE account info shows she paid to renew support but it also shows that EE is currently not activated on any website. Please advise!
I checked and your account here on EE.com is an EE4 Everything License. However, the website has EE3 activated. You’ll either need to update the site to use Event Espresso 4 or switch to an EE3 license. Your account page has a utility to switch to a different license plan.
Do I need to change the license on the EE site FIRST and then update to 4 in WordPress or the other way around? Or does it not matter?
I assume the license we would change to is the version 4 PERSONAL so we get all the addons. Is that correct?
Also, in WordPress will this update as with most other WP plugins? Or do I need to upload the ATOS Gateway files first? The WP plugins page says we have Version 3.1.37.7.P installed now.
If you want to stay on EE3 and have 1-click updates for new versions of EE3 (where it will update just like other WP plugins), you can switch your license to be an EE3 license. If you only run EE3 with no add-ons, the Personal License is a good choice. If you run EE3 with many EE3 add-ons, then the Business License is a good choice.
You can dismiss the message about the ATOS gateway, the message isn’t intended to instruct to update any files.
