After several successful days of selling event tickets, the email notifications for successful registrations to the customer and admin stopped getting sent. We then got notified from Stipe (our sole payment processor) that their web hook back to event espresso was throwing a 400 error (/?wc-api=wc_stripe) and was subsequently disabled. We are assuming that these two processes are linked. Stripe shows successful payments for registrations and EE is showing approved and paid registrations. No other errors are visible. Only the email notifications are missing. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Hi there,

/?wc-api=wc_stripe that’s not something EE would use, it looks like WooCommerce with the wc prefix (EE would normally use a prefix of ee{something} ({something} changes depending on what it is).

Regarding the emails, if you go to Event Espresso -> Messages it will load the message activity table by default.

Do you see the ‘missing’ emails listed there?

If so, what colour ‘status bar’ (the bar to the left of each message) do they show?

Okay, thanks for the info regarding the web hook. So likely that is not the issue (other than Stripe is assuming we’re using WooCommerce). As mentioned, the payments are processing normally, so its just the post payment confirmation message (or at least that what the web hook request looks like: customer data and transaction data).

We’re getting a green “sent” status on the message so it is likely that the email is getting blocked downstream. That is looking most likely since we are getting green status on all aspects of the registration from within EE. Thank you for your response.

Yeah, pretty any time EE is showing a message as ‘sent’ (green status bar) it means it passed the email over to wp_mail(), which did its thing, and sent the email however you server is set to send email, with no error returned.

What happens to the event after that is up to the mail server and not something we can control.

How is you site set to send email currently?
