I am using both Paypal and Stripe and now my stripe payments do not seem to be updating EE that payment has been made but the transactions are being marked as completed.
Does it need a webhook in there to tell EE it has processed or is that done with the Stripe/EE plugin? I can’t seem to find anything about a webhook but vaguely remember doing it before. It was working fine previously. Please advise.
All plugins are up to date.

Hi Sean,

No you do not need any webhooks for the Stripe payment method to work.

So when you make a payment with Stripe, does the EE transaction update or are you referring to the Stripe transaction showing completed?

The transaction still says payment pending but it’s being updated to completed.

And it’s not being added to the total of tickets sold because it’s still payment pending but clearly I can see that payment is complete in the same line.

Hi Sean,

There is no ‘Pending Payment’ transaction status, that’s the registration status 🙂

So the EE Transaction shows the Stripe payment as complete and the status for that transaction itself is Complete…. but the Registration status does not update from Pending Payment to Approved?

Can I take a look at this within the admin?

If so please send temporary login details using this form:

Note the credentials need to for an Administrator account.

Hi Sean,

So I’ve been looking over your site and it there’s no issue shown within the logs, however I did run into problems during test registrations.

There’s a lot of connections being refused by your server, all at different times and different files.

On a couple of registrations the reg_form_validation file within EE would reset and cause an error on the payment options (just by selecting Stripe) – http://take.ms/QUBHI

Others the admin-ajax.php file closed the connection, those requests often update sections of the registration or transaction so if they will fail.

If that happens during registrations it will cause problems with updating the registrations.

I left the site for a few mins and tested again, this time the site is all loading fine and seems to be working, so it looks like this is a server issue.

Do you know what type of server are you using?

If you look within Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System information.

Search for wp_memory and note the value, then search for memory_limit and note both the local and global value. Post those values here please.

Your also running the server with either WP_DEBUG enabled or error_reporting enabled on your server – http://take.ms/kqXrU

Those errors should not be shown on live sites.

[language] => en
[wp_max_upload_size] => 32 MB
[wp_memory] => <mark class=”yes”>96 MB</mark>

Its getting worse now!! and I am getting phone calls and emails because of the errors. I have been using this system for a quite a while with the same webhost (GoDaddy) shared and its been ok.

Can you let me know of the latest transaction this happened on so I can view it on your site please?

I just set about 20 of them to complete a few hrs ago but I bet if you logged in now if you still have my login details you will see a transaction there via Stripe that’s pending payment but completed.

I haven’t found any Incomplete transactions with Approved Stripe payments.

However I do see Incomplete transactions with complete PayPal payments, are you sure the users running into this problem is with Stripe and not PayPal?

I will update you once one happens. The problem with paypal is a seperate one and I had not noticed that until you mentioned it. It was definitely Stripe that I was having the major problem with.
