Installed WordPress HTTPS and the registration page and checkout page are now in HTTPS mode; however I still receive this error immediately after trying to make a payment
ERROR: Failed to charge the card.
Looks like something went wrong. Please try again or notify the website administrator.

I’ve tried the solution found here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/stripe-gateway-failing/
But still get the error after changing the Stripe Currency Symbol to ‘USD’

Hi,
Are these test transactions? If so is the value above the minimum threshold of $0.50 cents?
Have you made sure that the keys entered into the settings are correct and have no extra whitespace?
Have you made sure that the Stripe account itself is in order (active, in good standing, etc)?
Have you checked the card details added were correct?

I just ran into this as well, and changed it from “usd” to “USD” AND increased my test purchase price to greater than $0.50 and it worked. I don’t know which of the two it was, but if I had to guess, it was the second one if Stripe does have the minimum transaction amount. Thanks for this post to help me troubleshoot this quickly.
