Hello,

In the event registration form, when United States chosen as a country, the state dropdown shows all other country states starting from UK. Is it possible to show the related states only?

Thank you,

Hi – I am having this same problem, starting in the past few days. Have not had reports like this from users until recently. Complicating matters, the countries are not listed alphabetically (US appears immediately after Japan, in the middle of the list) and the scroll moves very quickly, so users are having real difficulty completing the form. Will there be a fix for this soon?

Thanks

Hi there,

Is this on iOS or Android?

Can you link me to the event so I can take a look?

Note, if this is when viewing using iOS we currently don’t have a fix. iOS basically completely takes over how dropdowns display with an overlay, that overlay doesn’t offer the same control a ‘normal’ dropdown does and the only way to do the above is via non-standard ‘hacky’ code.

Thanks for the reply!

I am viewing on up to date Chrome browser, on a Windows 10 PC. I do not know the OS for the three instances that have been reported to me.

I do not believe the problem is event-specific, since we use a template registration form for all events. Here are the two events involved so far:
https://somaticpractice.net/events/tst-2020-la/
https://somaticpractice.net/events/mfb-june-2022/

The first event has been taking registrations since July of 2020 (16 months) without experiencing this issue, to my knowledge

Thanks

Same here;

I am viewing on up to date Chrome browser, on a Windows 10 PC, and all the events have the same problem.

Thank you,

Hi there,

When I test on those events using Chrome with Win 10 and select a county, the relevant states/counties show for that selected country.

For example, selecting UK filters down to just show UK: https://monosnap.com/file/bmoFgmtbj2b3JnoJ1Cx2WpRXywGfIU

Then selecting another, shows only states relevant for the selected country, in this case Japan:

Am I misunderstanding the issue or do you get different results?

I have logged in as one user who reported the issue, and attempted to reconstruct the problem. Here is a video capture of the results:

Ahh, so it’s happening on auto-filled addresses?

Click on country and just select something then Canada again, does it work?

Hi Tony,

In my situation, whatever country I choose I see the all states starting from UK states.

Thanks,

In my situation, whatever country I choose I see the all states starting from UK states.

On your site there is a console error each time I select a country:

Invalid "country_select_id"! Can not find corresponding State select for Country select with id: ee_reg_qstn-39025-19

Try moving your country input to just above your state input, does it work then?

Hi Tony,

Yes. It worked.

Thank you!

You’re most welcome.

The checkout process has some JavaScript to filter the state fields based on country selection, however, due to the amount of flexibility you have with question fields, it tries its best to find the related field but sometimes fails. The best way to make sure it can find it is to place it directly after the country field.
