Hello,

I tried to search for related topics but I wasn’t successful. We used EE3 for about 10 years and have been trying to convert to EE4 for some time now. We are ready to go but ran into some differences that we are looking to resolve.

In EE3 with Staff Manger, we had the ability to add the staff manger field within the event list along with course title, date, location, price, etc. I was hoping there was a way to add these same fields using people admin. This will give the ability for the user to see who the instructors are for each course listed under the main event_list page.

Something similar with how these course lists gets displayed when you view a person from the people admin list to view their ‘page’ or bio on how that displays the info.

In EE3 we had the ability to the {Event_Staff ID} short code for the instructor. It would display all courses they have upcoming. The difference between people admin verses staff manager is the same as above. We were able to include the instructor or instructors in the event list. The lines that seem to have been added or included with EE3 staff manger was instructor_text and person_id that we don’t see with People Admin.

Is there a way to add these fields to the event list using the people admin feature or using something else.

Any information would be very much appreciate.

Thanks,
Erik

Hi Erik,

My apologies but I keep re-reading your thread and no matter how many times I try I can’t break out what it is you are trying to do, I know it’s me and I can’t see the wood for the trees here but try as I might, it’s not syncing in!

Can you add a screenshot of what you are trying to achieve with the People Add-on?

It sounds like you might just need custom templates for the people add-on to pull the details you need.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion. I provided some screen shots but I believe the easiest way to explain what we are trying to accomplish is to be able to display the instructors name within the event list.

Here is a screen shot of EE3 for an event listing – view here. We had it add the instructors using staff manager.

Here is a screen shot of EE4 for an event listing – view here. We were hoping to unitize the people admin feature to add the instructors name.

Its been some time since we made any modifications to EE3 but we could have manually added the short code in the event_list_display.php page or it could have been there by default. I attached a screen shot of the code for that part. view here.

Please let me know if you need any additional information. And thanks again for taking the time to look into this.

Erik

Ok, so the reason I guess I’m getting confused with this, is that people already show on the default Event list:

Are you loading your own event list within EE4?
