If you are considering purchasing the Square gateway (3rd party), I would highly recommend reconsidering. We are actively selling a variety of ticket types for an upcoming event. If someone buys quantity 3 of one of the tickets (it’s always the same ticket type), they get an error telling them to try again, even though they have already been charged $652. The developer is slow to respond. Having major regrets… If anyone else has experienced this issue, let’s connect. |

Hi there, May I ask which 3rd party you purchased the payment method from? It’s important to note that with all payment methods within EE, it essentially hands over the transaction details to the payment method itself and then it (the payment method) controls everything regarding the payment object and returns it to Event Espresso. So with regards to the above Event Espresso is not initiating a charge at all, the Square gateway/payment method is and we don’t have any control over what it does. — Whilst we don’t provide support for 3rd party add-ons, I’m curious if the above works with a single ticket and it’s only when selecting multiple that it fails? |

It’s the WPGateways Square gateway. I know you guys don’t support it. This was more meant as a warning to anyone else considering it. The gateway response recorded in this situation is “Invalid payment amount in response.” It seems to only happen when someone buys 3 of a specific ticket. They can buy 1, 2, 4 or 5 of them without issue. I’m also having a different issue (see my other recent post) with payments being miscalculated during a ticket transfer on a ticket that had a percent surcharge changed to a dollar surcharge. I’m wondering if the two are somehow related. |
|
Sounds unlikely to be related to be honest but without investigating the payment method itself it’s hard to know, I’ve seen some do some very crazy things! I suspect it’d due to the fact that 652 doesn’t divide by 3 cleanly: 652 / 3 = 217.33333333333 For 1,2,4 & 5 its clean division, if there’s some form of comparison going on that could cause issues but note I’m just taking a stab in the dark and could be way off the mark. |
|
The total for the three tickets actually comes out to $652.05, so it divides out to a clean $217.35. |

Yeah so in that case, it’s not that. Without setting the code it’s all just guess work. |
