We are using EE3 and we have Ticket Reservation Time is set to 10 minutes. While testing via 2 browsers and incognito mode, we set up an event with only one spot available. When trying to register from different browsers/computers the available spots number did not change one on of the registrations started as well as it lets second person start registration for the same event. Is there a way to mark the spot as reserved if someone is in the process of registering for an event? |
Hi Kat, unfortunately that lock occurs once the registration has been completed (free or paid). Have you tried the ticket timeout option on the general settings page for Event Espresso in your WP dashboard? That can help prevent overselling but there may still be a chance of that occurring if an offsite payment method like PayPal standard is used. This is because, the attendee/registrant needs to go to PayPal and pay and then PayPal updates the payment information via its instant payment notification which is usually quick but can be delayed. — |

I can’t find ticket timeout option. We are using 3.1.37 if that makes any difference. We definitely need to prevent overselling. Hopefully we can come up with a solution. |
Hi Kat, its under WP-admin –> Event Espresso –> General Settings –> Advanced Features –> Ticket Reservation Time: http://cl.ly/image/0l1E0j45333O PayPal Pro should definitely help since that processes in seconds whereas the PayPal Standard option could be delayed due to the IPN. — |

Yes, we have Ticket Reservation Time set up to 10 minutes. It still doesn’t reserve a spot. |
Hi, there are no hold a spot features in Event Espresso as the registrations are updated once registration checkout is completed. That timeout feature will allow an attendee up to x minutes to complete their registration. If they don’t, then their session is closed and a session is what holds the registration information. — |

Oh ok. Sorry for misunderstanding. That’s very unfortunate.. We were under impression that it works the same as checkout in online stores or Ticketmaster where it holds an item for xx minutes so nobody else can purchase it. Is that feature available in EE4? Or that’s not something you will be working on at all? |
Hi, Sorry for misunderstanding. There isn’t a feature that temporarily holds on to any tickets. In Event Espresso 4, we’ve added multiple checks for the remaining tickets / pricing options as a registrant/attendee is going through registration checkout. This reduces the chance of overselling but is not a complete solution for tickets that sell out very quickly. — |
