Hi, – On 1 hand, I have members whom from I gather informations through either BuddyPress or morelikely VFB (Visual Form Builder Pro). Datas are for ex. : License number, boat name and type, Sail n°, phone, email, etc. So, not on the standard WP registration form. (reason why I use Buddy, VFB or else) – On the other hand, we organize regattas and sail contests during the seasons. Question: 2- For members, I want them not to be oblige to re-enter their datas (License number, boat name and type, Sail n°, phone, email, etc. ) once they are logged, but just go on your EE Calendar or on the regatta page, and just click “Register for this race”. Is that what you call “Members Add-on, etc. “easier registration process with auto-filled registration forms. Members can pay for new events and manage If so, while applying, can they EDIT the pre-filled form for another boat or partner for example? Precision: Members are not all of them boat owners. So, “non-owners” members may run as a team-member on 1 boat for the 1st event, but on another one for other events. For me, that’s 1st point is essential. Then, as a “nice to have”, I’d like people who already have subscribed to a previous event to be in the same “status”, not having to re-enter everything… Then, then a “very very nice to have” would be that points would be allocated per race in the member profile…That would be christmas for me, but most probably not EE’s core job. I fully understand. I hope I’ve been clear enough. At least I tried to :-/ Does EE handle that? It would be great. |
Hi JMDP, Thank you for considering Event Espresso, I’ll break each section down and asnwer the best I can.
With Event Espresso and the WP Members Add-on, a member of the site can register onto an event and the information stored on their account will be shown on the registration form. Event Espresso uses values stored within the members account (user_meta) and will pull this information in on the registration form automatically, so the user can click to register onto the event, they will see the registration form like any other user but some of the information will already be pre-filled. Users can edit this pre-filled information (there is a setting to allow/disallow this) Custom questions will need some custom development to pull in the information and assign the correct answers to the correct questions on the registration forms.
All members (members are WP Users) with the information stored in user_meta will work in the same way. However, just to make sure it is clear, the current information you have on members such as their boat name that has been taken thorugh BuddyPress and VFB will need custom coding in order for you to use those values within the EE registration form. This will not work out of the box.
That would be very very nice, but not something Event Espresso supports at this time. If you have any further questions just let me know 🙂 |
