Hi Lorenzo,
I have a similar problem but unfortunately the instructions for Gilda above was of no help in my case.

EE4:s standard use of single.php to present a single event just doesn’t work for my clients website. The single.php template page is already used on the websites blog page which means that it says “Blog” on top of the event and that the blog sidebar shows up next to the single events instead of the events sidebar, neither problem is acceptable of course and I am quite bewildered in how to fix this. Changing page-template in the template pane on the edit event page does not help of course.

It would be super nice if you could give a thorough walk through on how to change the default single event template. Preferably to a page with a short code, similar to the events list. I am sure many must have this issue with Event Espresso.

Thanks!

Hey there Nijen,

I’ve split your support post reply from the original support post here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/single-event-detail-page-problems/#post-155834

If you see an existing support post that sounds like your issue or question, then please create your own support post and then include a link to the support post that you saw. This will help us prevent confusion when multiple members are posting.

We restored the page template selector last week and the fix for it will go out in a maintenance release by tomorrow.

One other way to handle this is to setup starter templates and duplicate a page.php template for your single events page. More information is available here:

Hi Lorenzo, thanks for the answer and the heads-up on posting.
Sounds great with the page template selector – I’ll wait for tomorrow to check it out. As you write it will be released a maintenance release it won’t be an add-on I suppose. Tried to find documentation on it but couldn’t find any.
Thanks – i’ll be eyeing the updates 🙂

Hi Nijen,

It isn’t an add-on since it is part of the core plugin — specifically the event editor.

However, if you are wanting to do extensive customizations to the templates across multiple Event Espresso pages, then the starter templates are a good idea.
