We just updated to EE4 4.8.9.p and now suddenly we are getting 500 error pages when trying to view the Events page in the backend.

Seems to be trouble with this latest update.
Anyone have a link to 4.8.8.p?

Hey there,

I’ve split your support post reply from the original support post here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/fatal-error-conflicting-with-category-pages-2/#post-172579

If you see an existing support post that sounds like your issue or question, then please create your own support post and then include a link to the support post that you saw. This will help us prevent confusion when multiple members are posting.

What is the exact error that you are experiencing? Could you copy and paste it here in a reply?

Hi Lorenzo, thanks, will do in future!

Basically a 500 server error.
The only thing that changed is we updated EE4 to 4.8.9.p.
Not sure we might have skipped a few versions since 2 weeks ago as our maintenance key wasn’t working (fixed now).

HTTP 500 error
That’s odd… Microsoft Edge can’t find this page
This page can’t be displayed, because this site’s server might be under maintenance or there could be a programming error.

It happens in every browser and I’m 100% sure it was working before we updated.
Rest of the site operates as usual.

URL: http://party-tours.nl/

I can give you FTP/Admin account if you need it.

This is the exact “page” that delivers it.
Other EE4 pages including transaction seem to be working fine.

wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_events

Hello again, could you temporarily enabled WP debugging through your wp-config.php file and then copy and paste the error message in the debug.log file here in a reply?

https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/848801a1173be464fbe7

Be sure to turn WP debugging off afterwards.

Hi Lorenzo, thanks for the quick reply!

Have enabled debugging.
It gives this line:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Venues_Admin_Page in /home/partyto2/domains/party-tours.nl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/caffeinated/admin/new/venues/Venues_Admin_Page.core.php on line 0

The only thing I can think of is that I manually updated via FTP and I hit “overwrite if source is newer” in Filezilla.
I’ll try uploading all files again forcing overwrites.

Overwriting all the core-reg files with new ones didn’t solve it either.

Hi Angelo,

Overwriting files in a major release is not recommended. This is because some file and folder paths could be different between the major releases.

Try removing the plugin through the WP dashboard and then download a new copy and upload and install through your WP dashboard.

You can get a new copy of Event Espresso 4 through your WP dashboard:

https://eventespresso.com/users/partytours/#ee4-downloads

Do let us know if this helps!

Wow, I thought that would be the same as installing it.

I just uninstalled it through WP and reinstalled it and it works!
Thanks!

Hi Angelo,

Good to hear that resolved the issue for you.

I will mark this thread as resolved. If you need to discuss it further please open a new forum thread.

Thanks
