Please add this to your upgrade list. Under venues have fields for thye admin to be able to keep track of the point of contact for the place. If I use an auditorium or classroom it would be nice to be able to have the point of contact info with the venue. Allow attributes for the venue such as does it have wifi or internet things like that. Second add an instructor or Speaker page or tracking. Allow me to assign a speaker or instructor to an event and allow for me to have his full bio and contact info. Maybe allow me to be able to assign certifications or degrees to him as well. We use your tool in coordination with Moodle LMS so any linkage to that would be awesome as well like allowing a class to sell tickets for the classes hosted on moodle. I have been using the espresso now for a few weeks and have bought the plugins. One thing I find about espresso is that you have to know templates as the shortcodes are not as robust. Maybe consider making it a little easier on the design of things for non programmers. Just some thoughts thanks. PS better integration with mailchimp maybe allow the espresso to send out an announcement of a class to a list. |
Hi Stephen, Thank you for the feedback, we appreciate any and all feedback as it shows us how we improve Event Espresso. I have opened up a discussion around the points you raised. The point of contact I think is a good idea, although to confirm, this would be an admin view only section within the venue yes? With The point of contact name & number (possibly also ‘notes’ for any extra info?) Assigning attributes to the venue such as wifi etc, although I think this is good idea would/should this information not be included within the event description?
With EE4 we made the decision to follow the ‘WordPress way’ and use standard theme/templating techniques normally used within WP. This offers the greatest flexibility in the long run as EE integrates into your sites own theme and hooks into specific points to output the data. Changing the event layout can be done in various ways however ultimately if you require custom designs it would be best to hire a developer to create a child theme that suits your specific needs.
We currently integrate with MailChimp, which will allow you assign users to your lists and groups as the register onto the event. You can then create a campaign within MailChimp to send out your announcements. Is this not what you are expecting? |
