A customer just called through and was unable to register her daughter. She told me about the error message that occured while registering before being transfered to PayPal:

Your form data cannot be applied to any valid registration

Error code EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – process_Reg_Step – 571

I am experiencing the following backend course registration issue:

An error has occurred:
First Name is a required value.
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – _verify_critical_attendee_details_are_set_and_validate_email – 859

Even after upgrading the system to Event Espresso 4.6.2. I have followed the recommendation of deactivating all plugins except for Event Espresso (even add-ons) and that did not fix the problem. I then tried to switch to the Twenty Fifteen default them and that did not work as well. Please help us fix this ASAP considering we cannot function as a business until this is fixed!

Hi Susan,

The admin backend course registration issue will be fixed in the next update. Can you try registering on the front end?

Oh and I forgot to mention to please check and make sure that your server does not have object caching. Object caching will cause registrations to randomly fail and thrown the “Your form data could not be applied to any valid registrations.” error

Hi Josh,

We are no able to successfully use the system due to the 4.6.4 update. If we do not fill in all the required fields in the backend we get the following error.

The following errors have occurred:
Does your child have allergies or medical concerns of which we should be aware? : This field is required.
EED_Single_Page_Checkout – _check_form_submission – 932
A valid transaction could not be initiated for processing your registrations.
EE_SPCO_Reg_Step_Attendee_Information – process_reg_step – 564

If we fill in all of the required fields the form does submit successfully. My only problem hear is that from the clients standpoint the system does not appear to be functioning correctly. How can we resolve this last issue and hide the programming errors? WP Debug is set to false within the wp-config file. display_errors is set to 0.

Hi Susan,

That’s actually the intended message if the form is submitted before a required form field is filled out. Event Espresso 4’s admin includes server side validation and also browser side validation. However, the browser side validation only kicks if you use a modern web browser that supports HTML5 form validation. If your client can upgrade to one of the browser versions for Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox listed here:

http://browsehappy.com/?locale=en

If they use one of the recommended browsers, they will have the added validation that will prevent the form from being submitted without filling in all the required fields.

Hi Josh, I am using the latest version of Chrome. Also we now have a new issue which is:

There seems to be another issue. Registrations are going through the payment process but not being completed on the EE side. I noticed this payment notification but no registration information to accompany it. When I looked at the back end, the children’s registrations went through but the program shows their registrations as incomplete (the date that registration was done (Feb 6) is listed in orange, instead of the green that shows complete.)

Hi Susan,

Can you go to Event Espresso -> General Settings.

Then load the ‘Critical Pages’ tab.

Do all of the pages show ‘Page Status OK’ and ‘Shortcode OK’?

Can you post links to your ‘Transactions’ page, and your ‘Thank You’ page please?

This lady just called to say she got an error message after completing the PayPal process. Her payment went through, so not sure why there was an error message, but she was told to call us.

Hi Susan,

Can you find out what the error message was and let us know what it said?

Susan Perry

February 9, 2015 at 8:40 am

She wasn’t specific but said it was a box that popped up after she processed the payment. The message said Error, perhaps something regarding processing payment & that registration is not complete, pls contact ??? She said it told her to contact us – whether it was SOS 4 Kids or administrator, I don’t know.

Hi Susan,

Was it:

“We could not find which payment method type your form submission related to.”

or was it:

“It appears that the event you were about to make a payment for has sold out since you first registered. If you have already made a partial payment towards this event, please contact the event administrator for a refund.”

Or was it:

“A valid payment was not generated due to a technical issue. Please try again or contact {} for assistance.”

Susan Perry

February 9, 2015 at 12:34 pm

An error has occurred:
The selected method of payment could not be determined.
Please ensure that you have selected one before proceeding.
If you continue to experience difficulties, then refresh your browser and try again, or contact register@safetycoursesforkids.com for assistance.

Hi Susan,

That error means that your attendee has not selected a Payment method before clicking the ‘Proceed to Finalize Registration’ button, here – http://take.ms/gaBqi

Not selecting the payment method and clicking the button shows this – http://take.ms/oSuWl

However you can also set PayPal to open by default, as this is the only Payment Gateway you have active on the front end, users would not need to select PayPal.

If you go to Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> PayPal Standard.

Within those settings you’ll find the option ‘Open by default’, set that to Yes and update the settings – http://take.ms/yyp2X

That will automatically select PayPal for your attendees on the finalize page.

Thanks Tony. That fixed one issue, now what about Any word on the registration details not being sent by email and EE recognizing courses that have been paid as complete?

Hi, the PayPal IPN option handles the updating of the transaction with the payment and the email is sent out when the attendee/registrant arrives on the thank you page.

Is the PayPal auto-return option enabled on your site?

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/mer/express_return_summary-outside

If so, could you remove the existing URL, turn it off, and also turn of the PayPal PDT option if it is on?

IPN issue now resolved. We are now getting duplicate registration notification with EE4 4.6.5. Tried disabling all notifications and re-adding them, however it did not resolve the issue.

Hi Susan,

Which message are you receiving multiples of?

Is it the Registration Approved message?

Is this from each user registering onto your site or a test registration you made?
