Jonathan, installed EE4.7 & the discount plugin. Upon activating got this error the following error, please advise. Database table wp_esp_promotion existed when it shouldn’t, and probably contained erroneous data. You probably restored to a backup that didn’t remove old tables didn’t you? We recommend adding define( ‘EE_DROP_BAD_TABLES’, TRUE ); to your wp-config.php file then restore to that backup again. This will clear out the invalid data from wp_esp_promotion. Afterwards you should undo that change from your wp-config.php file. |

All seems to be working well on the discount code beta, but the “Promotion Applies To date filter” is far more difficult than it needs to be. It would be great if one could simply narrow search by event name instead of name & date. |
Matter of fact, I’ve spent 30 minutes trying to get an event listed on specific promotion and I can’t get it done. Perhaps having the unrestricted listing of events below so I can manually select an event would be helpful? |
Wow, this filter is hateful… |
Is it possible to add a promotion from the event itself? |
Hi AJ, promotions are created via the promotions screen rather than managed via the event editor. This is edit (different) than the workflow for Event Espresso 3. — |
Hi, I made an error on my prior reply so I’ve edited it. The promotions system in Event Espresso 4 does not allow you to manage those discounts codes directly from the event editor. — |
I understand it does not allow it, but it was a feature request. I am still unable to add a discount to a specific event because of the dates filter on the promotion itself. |
Hi, you should be able to expand the date range via the date filters. Are those not working? — |
Correct. I’ve expanded and contracted the date range, created/edited categories and I am unable to get discount added to this one event. |
So, just tested again and I was able to add the code… Very strange behavior. But, I’m glad we have beta to test. Thanks! |
Of note, after applying discount codes, payment options are still present and do not allow the registration to proceed. |
Hi AJ, To be clear, that only happens with 100% discount codes, can you verify? |
Correct. |
OK. That’s an issue we’re aware of and we’ll have that fixed before beta testing is finished. |
Thanks for the response Josh. Anyway I can get a hotfix so I can use it? |
Hi, this issue has been reported and is waiting to be reviewed by a developer. We do not recommend using the promotions system on a live site since we are actively testing and fixing issues. It would be best to setup a testing or staging site for testing. — |
Thanks. I am using it for testing internally, but cannot test further until this is resolved. |
Hi guys. Do we have any updates on this? I have upgraded to 4.7.004 and promotions 1.0.0.063 and the problem still exists. Thanks for everything! |
Hi AJ, We are going to add a listener that checks if adding a promo code results in a $0 total, then remove the payment methods, and then trigger a click on the “Finalize Registration” button when the $0 total is met. Once this work is done I’ll update this thread to let you know it’s in a pre-release build. |
Update: The Promotions add-on for Event Espresso 4 is now available. The final release includes support for discounts where the total results in $0. |
