I’m getting the same thing for an event that is today, but has not yet started. The “No upcoming events” message occurs in the upcoming widget and on the event page.

I’m using 4.4.0.beta.011.

I was able to work around this by eliminating the message using a search and replace plug-in.

I changed the ticket sales to continue until the end-time for the event so people can still buy tickets and make contributions.

HERE’S NOW I’D LIKE TO SEE THIS WORK:

I’d like an event to listed as “upcoming” until the end-time and date of the event.

Even better, it would be great if while the event is in progress, that is between the beginning time and ending time, the message would say, “This event is in progress right now” or something similar.

My logic is this: If I’m going to an event, I will often go to the event listing to double check the time and to get directions. I think others do this as well, and it is critical that they not see a message that says there’s no upcoming date for the event.

By the way, the worst thing you can do is to remove the time and date, so it really looks like the event is over.

I had to add the date to the event title and then add the time and date to the description to overcome this problem.

Hello,

You are running an old version of the software — specifically a prerelease. Please update to the current software as we troubleshoot on the current version:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

Begin by backing up your WordPress:

https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Note: the steps below will backup a copy of your existing plugin folder. If you have not made any edits to the core plugin, then you can perform a one-click update through the WordPress admin after backing up your site.

Download the latest version of your Event Espresso software from your account:

https://eventespresso.com/users/hostricity/

Now login to your WordPress admin and go to Plugins. Locate Event Espresso in the list of plugins and deactivate it.

Next login to your WordPress root with an SFTP or FTP client (FileZilla and Cyberduck are free options). Then browse to the WordPress plugins folder: wp-content/plugins

Locate the Event Espresso folder and relocate it one level above the WordPress plugins folder and add old to the end of the folder name: wp-content/event-espresso-old

Return to the Plugins screen in the WordPress admin and click on Add New –> Upload. Then browse to the zip file that you downloaded from your account. Select it and begin the upload process.

You can activate Event Espresso after it has finished.
