Hi,
We’re having the same issue with Paypal Standard even though we have Auto Return set on our account already. Recent registration shown as incomplete even though I can see that the customer has paid the full amount. This seems to be a recent issue with two examples recently though none I can remember before.

Hi David,

If these incomplete registrations happened after June 17 then it may be that your server’s root certificate needs to be updated. You can contact your host and ask them to make sure that the server meets the new PayPal requirements listed here:

Hi
Thanks for that Josh. My host (Hostgator)tells me that they comply with Paypal’s requirements. Of course the issue may have happened before that was the case & we won’t have a further problem from now on. I will have to see what happens when Paypal is used again-Stripe is our main card processor now.

Hi David,

PayPal Standard uses the PayPal IPN which usually responds to update the payments quickly but can be delayed.

Stripe is an on-site payment option so the payments are updated right away.
