Is there a way to email people who wanted to register for an event that has already reached max registration so we can tell them about future events?

Hi,

If you have set up a waitlist event, then you can email those attendees by using the Email attendees icon on the Event Overview list.

Without setting up a waitlist event there is no other way to gather their details to contact them, unless you set up a mailing list via MailChimp or similar service.

How do you allow for there to be a waitlist? These are the options I see in the event.

Attendee Limit:
(leave blank for unlimited)

Allow group registrations?

Max Group Registrants:

Additional Attendee Registration info?

Advanced Options:

Is this an active event?

Event Status:

Display description?

Display registration form?

Default Payment Status for Event:

Alternate Registration Page (optional)

Alternate Email Address (optional)

Hi,

You need to create a new event first, call it what you like, but I like to add in Waitlist to the title.

Before you publish the event, change the Event Status to waitlist.

Then edit the other main event or add a new one, and you will see a new option on the right: Assign a Waitlist Event?. Select Yes and then from the option below it (Overflow Event) select the waitlist event you wish to use.

Then update or publish the event.

Now when the main event is full, the visitors will get an option to sign up to the waitlist event.

Great! Is there a way to edit the text in the notice of the wait list?

Hi,

The best way is via the language files. You can either follow this guide, or use a plugin such as the Quick Localisation plugin.

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/

If you use the plugin, the “domain” needs to be event_espresso (screenshot http://take.ms/H2Epr )
