Just launched for registration today and had 140 sign ups so far. 3 Users were able to bypass the payment page (accidentally) and get a confirmation email without paying. There users have no Event time or Option, which shouldn’t be possible. I think it is because of this that I believe it is giving a $0 fee for the event any suggestions?? |
a customer re-tried it on same computer, same browser and it worked the second time, so I’m not sure what’s up? It seems to not be passing the event ‘time’ or event ‘option’ when submit is hit and because of this it thinks that the event is free and completely by-passes the payment page. Any ideas? I’m at a loss. Could there be an error resulting due to traffic? We just launched registration today and are experiencing higher volumes than expected. It’s only happened on 3 out of 200 sales. |
That’s strange. Can you give us a link to the registration page of your event? What computer and browser setup are they using? We’ll have to try and replicate it. It would also be nice if they could video record their process for registering to see if they do something unique. |

http://www.zombiesurvivor.ca/event-registration/runner-registration/ I’ve spoken to 3 people it’s happened to. They were using IE8, firefox and iphone. One person retried it on the exact same computer and browser and apparently it worked. So I’m a little confused as to whats happening. |

Hi Kyle, I haven’t been able to recreate this issue. The only thing I can think is that it is an irregular issue perhaps caused by the lack of end times. Was there any similarities between these 3 registrants – times, options etc? |
Hi Kyle, One other thing to check on: Did the event get edited while these registrations came in? |
I don’t believe it got edited, although I may have been looking at the event details? The 3 registered times varied (2 were 10am and one was 12pm), is there any reason for how the event could submit without passing the Event ‘option’ information? I only have 1 event option, so it’s not a user choice, but in all the cases where it messed up it didn’t pass an event ‘option’. It didn’t mess up at all yesterday, but I’ll keep you posted if I encounter it again. |
Hi Kyle, I think what Dean was suggesting that there may be an irregularity due to there not being any event end times. Normally there’s an event end time set in the event editor for the time slot options. |
Okay I’ll try adding end times and see what happens, it happened once today. |
Okay, I put in the end times, but removed the display for them in the php file, so we’ll see if that fixes things! |
Keep us updated please. |

Looked to be okay for a few days, now it happened twice today :(. Not sure what the correlation is, other than no users can see the wave times and when they get to the next page it says: “free event” |
Happened again, except this time the same guy tried and was able to input a wave time, still without the option. Is there anyway to force the ticket option field because that seems to be the problem? |
HI Kyle, Can you check the server’s error logs for any errors that may have been logged when these registrations went through? Normally you can’t submit a registration form without there being a time selected. |
Hi Kyle, Would it be possible to allow one of our developers to have a look at the WP admin and the files on your site so we can get a closer look? If so, please send FTP and WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page: |
Just sent you the credentials Josh, Happened once today… still really confused cause I can’t replicate. |
Hi Kyle, Thanks for sending. We haven’t been able to replicate in any of our testing either. I’m working with one of the developers on this and I’ll let you know what we find. |

Thanks Josh, We don’t mind paying for some support tickets if it looks like it’s something that can be fixed. We’re managing at the moment, we just make a phone call to the user if it happens, but it is an extra annoyance both to us and to our customers, so if you do have any ideas we will try them out. Cheers, Kyle Fitzgerald |
Hi Kyle, Can you check those FTP credentials you sent, and please let us know if there’s a port setting we need to use? The connection times out when we try to FTP in. Please use the form to send us any of the FTP info: |

Found a couple errors, but it’s happened more times than this, anyways here’s the Error_log from the website: [18-Mar-2013 12:50:45] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in zombiesurvivor/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/includes/functions/time_date.php on line 193 |
