Hi there
When creating an event:
– date/time of “event start” defaults to today and cannot be changed.
– State/Country option does not contain the custom created – displaying only USA/Canada…

Any idea what may be causing this and how to fix?
I am really interested in the plugin but wouldn’t want to spend hours trying to figure out what is going on after I buy it.
Thanks

Hi Cristian,

Thank you for considering Event Espresso.

– date/time of “event start” defaults to today and cannot be changed.

Do you mean the default can not be changed or the value can not be changed?

– State/Country option does not contain the custom created – displaying only USA/Canada…

Within Event Espresso -> General Settings -> Countries where you can edit the states, after you select a country, on the left you will see the option ‘Country Appears in Dropdown Select Lists’.

Any country with that set to Yes will be displayed, as will any states created for that country.

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the prompt reply, much appreciated.

– Date/time value cannot be changed, I tried several methods and browsers, it reverts back to current (short) date either before or after I save, when I move focus to another field.
– State/Country option: thanks, it looks like I now have to buy the plugin, you provided support for a mistake I made (not reading the documentation) LOL
Thanks again, will talk soon.

Hi Cristian, you should be able to change the datetimes. It is possible that another plugin is creating a conflict.

Does this issue continue when only Event Espresso is running?

Hi Lorenzo,
Spot on! it was a Newsletter plugin – I don’t even need it, came with the theme and I didn’t bother removing it.
Thanks!

Wait… spoken too soon 🙂
Did another test and it’s still there. Disabling more plugins and will post back the results…

Ok, I think we know what is going on:
The WPBakery Visual Composer plugin – needed by the theme I am using, is interfering with the datetime picker script, causing it to fail – to the point where the calendar isn’t loaded at all, I only get the datetime field.
Any thoughts on how to possibly solve this?
Thanks

Hi Cristian,

I have a couple of test sites using Visual Composer and do not have an issue with the datepicker.

Which version of VC are you using?

Which theme are you using?

Hi Tony

VC version is 4.4.2
Theme Embrace by Crumina (Envato) 1.1

I’m using a slightly older version (4.3.5)

Have you tried with one of the default themes such as twentyfourteen? You can switch to this version within the admin (leaving the front end as is) using the Theme Test Drive plugin.

Leave VC active as this will show if its an issue with the theme or VC.
