Hi,

I haven’t touched my site in weeks, but recently I updated my EE Calendar Plugin along with other plugins thinking it harmless except the color codes for my categories have now changed. All categories appear as a bluish green, which is the default for the Calendar type that I’m currently using.

I checked both the Event Overview Page and Categories Page and both appear the same when I created my Calendar with its specific color schemes.

You guys also suggested I place [RAW] [/RAW] tags around my Calendar allowing it to appear on my web page, which did work as first suggested. They’re now visible around my Calendar instead of hidden in the HTTP text edit page.

I’m sure there’s a simple fix; I’m just not sure what it might be.

Here’s a screen shot of most of the Calendar on my “Register Here” page http://www.jsprep.com/calendar that I’m describing:

Please help … thanks!

Pete

Hi Pete,

To remove the RAW tags edit the Calendar Page. On the editor you’ll want to switch to ‘Text’ mode.

You’ll should then see the Calendar shortcode and the RAW tags surrounding it (similar to this http://d.pr/i/RbAg)

Remove the RAW tags and update the page.

How did you previously setup the colours for the Calendar?

Hi Tony,

I set up the colors manually like I described above ie through the Categories tab, and then linked my events in the Event Overview tab to the categories I created in the Category tab.

I basically just followed the basic layout and formula for coordinating categories with events that EE has setup.

Does that make sense?

Pete

Yes that makes sense 🙂

If you go to Event Espresso -> Calendar Settings.

Set ‘Enable CSS for Categories’ to Yes and update the settings.

That should enable you category colours once again.

It worked, thanks so much; I appreciate it.

Wait, I have another question. Before the Calendar Plugin update, a breakdown of all 10 classes linked to each of my 4 courses would appear (day, date, time) once I hovered over each class.

Is there a way to return this useful effect?

Thanks!

Also, when I logout of EE, and go to my Calendar page, then click on any class in my Calendar it redirects me to the EE login. What’s going on there?

Clicking on a class used to redirect to my sites main Alternate Registration Page for each course. How do I fix this small issue?

Sorry I meant I’m redirected to my WordPress Admin login.

Hi,

Please go to the Calendar Settings page and check all the settings. Even if they are OK, please save the settings, as the last calendar update changed a few things so might have thrown the settings off balance.

Regarding the redirect, I would check if you have any redirect plugins or scripts, or membership plugins running as I can confirm it does the same for me, even though the URL it calendar shows should direct you to the event.

Hi Dean,

Thanks for your help. I believe I have saved all of my calendars settings on that same page, yet I still see no difference. I will examine the Calendar Settings page again, but could you tell me exactly what settings I should enable so hovering over the event will allow the days, dates, and times to appear as they originally did before the update?

Also, I’m not quite sure I understand what you mean when you mention “redirect plugins or scripts, or membership plugins [that may be] running.” Here is the list of my plugins that are currently activated:

– All in One Favicon
– Column Shortcodes
– EE Email Transactions Plugin by Event Espresso
– Event Espresso
– Event Espresso – Calendar
– Event Espresso – Recurring Events
– Event Espresso – Social Coupons
– Event Espresso – Social Media
– Event Espresso – Ticketing
– Event Espresso – Voucher Import
– Google Analyticator
– Shortcodes Ultimate
– WordPress HTTPS
– WordPress SEO

I’m not sure any of these would cause a deliberate redirect. Where else should I look, or what else might be causing that subtle glitch?

Thanks!

Pete

Hi Pete,
I was just looking at the calendar code, trying to see what would cause those links to the admin, and I have a couple things for you to check. Are you using any external urls for the registration pages in the event editor? In the calendar options, what do you have ‘Link to Post or Registration Page’ set to? In the general settings, page settings, what do you have the main registration page set to?

Hi Sidney,

Thanks for getting back.

I fixed the ability to hover over the event by enabling “Show Tooltips”, but now the event shows up way too large. How can I minimize the font and appearance of the “popup” event when I hover over the calendar?

Also, in terms of the redirect, I included a screenshot of my Event Editor:

[IMG]http://i39.tinypic.com/nvcltj.png[/IMG]

I’ve setup my course registration (10 classes per course) by linking all 10 classes to the first so that the first class is the only class potential clients are able to access and pay for the entire course ($800).

In Calendar options, I “Link to Registration Page” not Post.

In General Settings, Page Settings, I have the Main Registration Page set to “Registration”. Should I set it to another option?

Could it be anything else perhaps?

Thanks!

Pete

Hi,

Some CSS can resolve the tooltip size, by changing the font size, i.e.

.ui-tooltip-title {
font-size:12px;
}

.ui-tooltip-content {
font-size:12px;
}

The alternate reg page option, it looks like the URL is for the admin rather than the front page. To be clear the URL that goes in there is the URL you would visit if you were a customer, for example http://jsprep.com/event-registration/?ee=1, not what you currently have which is a direct link to the event edit screen in the admin.

Hey guys,

More small problems. So my events are now not even appearing on my Calendar page. http://www.jsprep.com/calendar

The events are now “Closed”, but I’m pretty sure that shouldn’t affect whether or not the events are visible.

Can you guys please help remedy? I appreciate it.

Pete

Honestly, this Calendar update is really killing me right now.

Hi Pete,

Closed events will by default be removed from the calendar, this has been in place for quite some time now.

To remedy this, add the show_expired=”true” parameter to your calendar shortcode, e.g.

[ESPRESSO_CALENDAR show_expired=”true”]

Ok, I guess I thought otherwise, my mistake.

No problem, let me know if you have any more questions regarding this.
