Not a big deal, as long as typing in the end time propagates to calendars and schedule tables correctly, and doesn’t change when we get to the event location. The text seems to indicate the event time at the event location (Ireland, which is also the WordPress general setting), while the slider is showing my local EST. Is there a safe way to enter event times? |
Hi there, Can you add a screenshot of what you see happening, please? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots It sounds like you may have a plugin conflict that is messing up the datepickers within the event admin but need to see the output to check. |

This shows two events, one in which the slider position and time do not agree and one in which they do agree. The first one agrees on start time but disagrees on event stop time by 12½ hours. The second one was entered in the same time zone as the event. The first was not, but some events entered there (EST) agree and some do not. The discrepancies for different events vary. I will type in the times for now! |
|
I should add WordPress was set to the event time zone. We have people in different time zones entering data, so I set WordPress to the event time zone. |
Hmm, ok. That doesn’t look like a plugin conflict at first glance. Did you change the timezone setting AFTER the EE events had been created at all? I think I’m going to need to take a look at one of the events to see if I can spot what’s going on here, the above is odd and nothing something I’ve seen before. If that’s ok you can send temp login details over using this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ Please include details of one of the events that show this on the form so I know where to look. |

All events are “practice” runs – modify them if you like. You saw the picture of one of the events that gave me trouble. Let me know if you have trouble finding them. I’m not sure if they are wrong the same way at all locations. |
Ok, I do actually think this may well be a plugin conflict. Here is a quick explanation of what seems to be happening, when you set the Event Start value, the date picker for the Event End changes so that the slider starts at the same time as Event Start is set to if it’s on the same day (you can’t have an event that ends before it starts). So for example, if I start an event on 2022-02-25 08:00 am Then go to set the Event End datetime, it should only allow you to start from 8:00am. On your site, the date picker is NOT updating the output, but the slider is correct. So from one of your events: https://monosnap.com/file/1ShPMpSJzblRwXFgVnAwweojjpzpf9 The event start is 1 pm, the event end is showing the full day, but the slider actually goes to 1pm: https://monosnap.com/file/UxOeKfap4xxA5s8EqI1jrtqXelvYBN I can’t reproduce this on my test sites, so I suspect this is conflict. What I would do here is first create a database backup (just to be safe), then install the WP Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ That plugin has a Troubleshoot mode which basically de-activates all plugins and switches you to a default theme, but only for you, the logged in admin. So install and activate the plugin, then go to Dashboard -> Tools -> Site Health -> Troubleshooting -> Enable Troubleshooting mode. Now your in troubleshooting mode, in the admin bar go to Troubleshooting Mode -> Manage Active Plugins. Enable Event Espresso and confirm if you get the same issue? If not, start enabling the plugins you normally have enabled on the site, refresh the event editor between each new plugin and see which one causes the problem again. Once finished to the Troubleshooting Mode admin bar menu again and click Disable Troubleshooting mode to go back to normal. |

I did install the plugin, but there was a warning that it had not been tested with my version of WordPress. When I activated it and entered troubleshooting mode, other browsers on my computer also saw the theme change. Disabling troubleshooting mode left the theme change in place on the other browser, even with refreshing. Then I did several things – I lost track – and one of them got things back to normal. I think it was the Hail Mary. In any event, I deactivated groups of plugins from the Bluehost panel, refreshed the event and checked the slider, then reactivated and moved to the next group, with no effect. The End Time > Start Time seems to hold, it’s just not reflected in the slider bar. Is it likely we are OK? |
|
I have been using Chrome, but Edge gives the same result. Now that I understand the scale on the Event End time is supposed to change to reflect the minimum end time, I realize that may be the only thing not working – the scale beneath the end-time slider is not adjusted. Sliding the slider works as long as you don’t use that scale, and typing in the time works. |
Firstly, I’m sorry you had issues with the plugin from my recommendation. I use that plugin pretty much daily and have never had issues but obviously, you did, so I’m sorry that happened. As for the slider, as long as the times match up with what you are expecting them to output as on the front end then the issue above is basically just visual. Either something is conflicting with the Datepicker javascript library we load, or something is happening with the JavaScript we load to interact with that library, which is preventing the slider visuals from updating. Without being able to reproduce this locally its difficult to narrow it down but I’ll check with our developers on this. |

I’m also sorry that troubleshooting mode did not work! This leaves the theme as a possible conflict. The reviews for the plugin love it or hate it lately. It may be compatibility with the latest PHP or WordPress. I’m ok with the issue if it’s just a visual. Do you still need access? |
No, no need for access anymore thank you. If you do run into any issues with the times let me know and we’ll have to re-think, likely looking into cloning the site so we can troubleshoot away from live. |
