Hi,

Is there a way to exclude expired events from the sitemap?

I am using Yoast SEO plugin

Yes, one way is to add a callback to the Yoast SEO plugin’s
wpseo_sitemap_entry filter hook. Code example:

Another way would be to add the IDs of the expired events to the Excluded posts settings:
