I started the process of doing a license reset online. It says it will be $10. Can I get it for free since it’s just moving from a temp url to the final url?

Done.

Please try not to use the licence key on development sites, that way a licence reset wont be needed.

I pasted the license code into the General Settings page on my site, but events are still not appearing (404).

Getting this error message after updating the General Settings page, and events won’t load.

“You have the correct Support License Key for Event Espresso but your account only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.”

Hi Kendall,

With the key issue, please be sure to remove the key from the development site. Then remove the key and save the Gen. Settings page on the production site. After that, you can request a reset and we’ll reset the key. Please skip the payment part as we’ll reset it for free.

With the events not loading, that’s a separate issue and that will need some troubleshooting. Did the events not start loading after the site was moved? If so, was the database properly migrated using a tool like WP Migrate DB?

Hi Josh… The site was put together on a temp URL at Godaddy: 0a4.3f8.myftpupload.com

I changed the URL to gomva.com, and Godaddy migrated everything over. When I try to log on to 0a4.3f8.myftpupload.com/wp-admin, I am redirected to the gomva site’s admin login

Hello, if you already changed your domain for the site to the final domain, then you would need to login there instead of the temporary site with Godaddy.

Lorenzo – Got that… already pasted the code there.

Josh – Godaddy’s implementation leaves the database where it is, and like WP Migrate DB, goes through the DB and corrects the links to work in the new URL.

To keep the issues separate, the license code is valid and is showing Active on gomva.com

It shows a red key, and gives the message: “You have the correct Support License Key for Event Espresso but your account only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log in to your Event Espresso account to manage your Support License Keys or purchase a support license right now.”

I’m assuming this is because somewhere in the database, it is showing event espresso as licensed with my temp url instead.

Any help you can give me on this would be appreciated. I don’t want to buy a support token to get “sorry – figure it out for yourself”, so if you have a sure-fire fix, let me know. I’ll buy the support token.

Thanks!

Hello,

I’ve just reset your Support License Key. In a few minutes, you’ll receive a confirmation to your email address on your Event Espresso account.

If you are using Event Espresso 3, please login to your WordPress admin for your live gomva.com website and locate Event Espresso in the admin menu. Then click on General Settings. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and locate the area for Support License. Now copy the existing key. Then erase the existing key and click on Save Options. After the page refreshes, scroll back down to the Support License area and paste your support license key and click on Save Options.

These steps will refresh your Support License Key for Event Espresso.

License key is refreshed, but event pages still show up as 404. I’ve cleared the cache, but I’m not sure what to do to fix the database.

Otherwise, my wordpress site is functioning normally. Can I uninstall and reinstall Event Espresso to clean up the database? Please advise.

Thanks!

I tried the step by step Lorenzo gave again, and now it is showing up with a red key (again). I’m uninstalling wordpress, then reinstalling. Hoping this works. If not, I may need yet another reset.

Is this a multisite installation of WordPress?

Your event pages should not show 404 if pretty permalinks are enabled. Try browsing to WP-admin –> Settings –> Permalinks to refresh your permalinks.
