I am getting this error on the http://cegsa.sa.edu.au/web site. “You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain.” I have read through the forums and have just not reset the license key but that has had no effect. I’ve had a quick look to see if there was multiple version of the plugin but none that I could see. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. |

I am having the same issue – all my other EventEspresso plug-ins updated ok. I have EventEspresso version 3.1.30.7P on WordPress 3.5.1. |
Hi everyone, I checked and the stats are showing that your keys are invalid. Please be sure that only the license key is being entered in the support key field. Any extra whitespace (before or after the key) may invalidate the key. When you’re ready to update, please remove the license key from your site, then go to your account page and someone will reset your key. Once reset, you’ll get an email notification that the key is ready to be re-entered. |
I’ve removed the white spaces. I’ll see if the error comes back up. Thanks. |
If you see the error again after removing the white space, please go to your account page and request a key reset. |
Sorry, I’m a novice here, but will requesting a key reset have any impact on my site at all while it’s being reset or once it’s reset? I’m just not very knowledgeable on what exactly the key has impacts on other than allowing automatic updating. Thanks! |
No impact whatsoever, other than you will not be able to use the auto update until it’s been reset. |
Thank you!! I’m going to request a reset right now so then I’ll be able to update to the newest version since I’m one behind … thanks again! |
Hi Jeff, I have reset your license key. Please remove the key from the field in your settings, save, then reenter the key and save again. |
I’m still having an issue. I didn’t initially remove then save the old key. can someone reset my key and I’ll try it again.
Hi Jonathan, I have removed the key, saved then re-input the key and it still says I do not have a valid license to get auto upgrades. I logged out of WP and back in and still nothing. Is there anything else I need to do? |
I too have the same issue, there’s obviously something wrong going on here… |
Thanks @Josh. As per your suggestion, I checked my key and had accidentally copied a space when I copied the support key into my installation. When I requested a key reset, and then entered the key correctly, automatic upgrade worked perfectly. |
@swoodward, have you requested a reset? If you still need a reset please request a reset and we’ll reset it for you. |
@Jeff McEntarfer, Sometimes a page refresh on the Event Espresso>General settings will force the ping to our server. In this case, your site key was set automatically at 12:00am this morning, so it looks like it’s working from our end. Can you check? |
@Kenson Clarke, It looks like your key was set to more than one domain. Can you check to see if there is still a key set for xpresstix.kclarke.net and remove it from there? After you remove it, you can request a key reset and we’ll reset it for free (no need to go on to checkout after requesting the key reset) |
Hey Josh, I tried the refresh option last night, and just did it again this morning and on my plugin page it still says my key is not valid to allow automatic updating. It still says it’s not allowed on multiple domains … you don’t see it assigned to multiple domains by chance do you? Not sure what else I can do … I’d be happy to let you into my WP site and look around if that would help. |
I checked and it looks like your key has been used on: localhost/megafootwall, localhost/sport, and it’s also on your live site. In this case, what I will do is delete the old key and assign you a new key. Please remove the old key from your site and set the new key on the production site only. If you set the keys on the localhost sites, it will throw the error again. |
Josh, that did the trick!! Thank you! My developer must’ve added that key to the localhost cause I definitely didn’t do it. Thanks for sticking w/ me to fix it though … very much appreciated. |

@swoodward – as the original poster, is your issue now resolved, or is it still outstanding? |
No same error |
@swoodward, ok i have recreated the licence key completely. Please remove the onbe in your general settings and save the options. then go to your account page on this site and get the new key and add it to the general setting sin your website and save again. Please give it some time to reconnect with our website, sometimes that can take 24 hours. If this still continues to be an issue please advise. |
I’ve just updated the site key.
I’ll advice if all is ok. Thanks. |
No problem, and yes please let us know if everything is ok/not ok. |
