I am evaluation Event Espresso to see if it can replace our current RegOnline system. We have an event that is a one-day event, with multiple sessions that users can choose between. AKA, they sign up for one thing, but then choose between 2-4 options for each “chunk” of time.
I found this post: https://eventespresso.com/topic/does-ee-support-multi-session-events-like-conferences/ but it has no answer. Other research turns up the idea of having a membership site and then registering people that way, but that’s way too complex for what I want to accomplish. Each person should have to register only once and then be able to choose their sessions.
Event Espresso will work for you if you use it one of two ways:
1) Each session would be a separate ticket with its own date and time. You can construct ticket options so that the main conference ticket could be required. The main conference ticket would also contain the price of registration.
This way each session could have its own limits.
2) If you don’t care how may people sign up for each session, you could use just one ticket for the conference, then use a custom question and ask people which session they want to attend. So, something like Session 1: _______, Session 2: _____., etc.
Does that make sense? Event Espresso would save you a LOT of money over RegOnline.
My situation is similar — one big fee, and then lots of options that we need to control the # of tickets for each.
But… there may be 6 time slots of workshops, but festival pass only allows choosing 4 workshops —
I’m thinking of using the membership / wp user integration to set up the different passes, and pair that with a coupon code for each day worth the cost of full admission to 4 events.
Would that work? Any other ideas for limiting them to 4 a day?
Approximately how many workshops / sessions would there be for the event?
