* WP version 3.9.1 Hello, I just would like some feedback as to whether the way I’m implementing this is the best approach within EE capabilities. So basically, this is a soccer coaching season event that takes place over the course of 8 days, one day a week. For example: Fall 2014 Saturdays – Class age: 3 to young 4 Time : 9:00 – 10:00 AM EDT I want to allow registrations up to sixth session, possibly with pro-rated prices. Regular price of each session is $20. Maximum class size is 12. When I tried the REM add-on, it didn’t quite suit my event model as it would take 12 registrations for each replicated event. I just need a total of 12 registrations across all 8 constituent days. I also tried a non-recurring event with multiple times (the event creation interface offers this “Add Additional Time” option), but it seems that it’s more suited to events that are split over multiple times during the same day only. So I created a non-recurring event with these parameters: However, now I have to list all of the days over which the event is split as part of the event description. (BTW: is there a shortcode for pages?) Other than this approach, would you suggest anything better? Thanks, |
Hi Miguel, If I understand your current event correctly, then it will request a single payment of $20. Should it be $20 per date? — |

Hi Lorenzo, Sorry for the confusion. No, the event represents a whole 8-session season and registrant must pay for all 8 sessions at once (so, a full payment of $20 x 8 = $160 is required.) I just gave the per-session fee hypothetically, but it doesn’t apply. It’s all or nothing. |
Hi Miguel, The way I would do this is to use REM the way you first described using the Alternative Registration URL feature. If you use REM to create a series of 8 sessions, (1-8) you can set sessions 2-8 to use session 1’s registration URL. What this means is a single registration limit (set within Session 1) but users will see the multiple sessions separately. To do this you create the series, edit the first session and click the Full URL button – http://take.ms/TmfN1 Copy the output and then edit session 2, then within the ‘Alternative Registration URL’ paste the link the button above generated. Within REM select ‘This and all upcoming events’ and update. Sessions 7-8 will all then point to Session 1 when clicked. So you’ll need to setup Session 1 with pricing for the full series. Does that help?
It depends on what information you are trying to display, and how. EE3 shortcodes can be viewed here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/ |

Ok, thanks Lorenzo. Let me test this approach and see if it works. |
