I am trying to create a single-event site. but I don’t know how to say that this is a single event site. It only has one event defined, but it is not behaving according to the Single Event Pages configuration. I have set the display order to:

  • Event Description
  • Dates and Times
  • Venue Information
  • Ticket Selector

On the event page, it shows:
1) Event Details with no detail information other than the phone number.
2) Ticket options
3) Upcoming Dates and Times
4) Event Location

So how do I make it behave the Single-Event rules?

Hi there,

Is this on your ‘registration’ page?

How are you currently outputting the event on that single page?

The page is http://wegcanada2017.org/registration/

The page has a large amount of text that should be in the Event Description, but when I put it there is shows up after the date / time gets displayed.

The contents of the page should be only this:

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS EVENT_ID=85]

As is, the shortcode call is preceded by the text.

Hi there,

The EVENT_ID=85 part of [ESPRESSO_EVENTS EVENT_ID=85] isn’t a valid short code parameter. So that part is ignored and it’s displaying a list of events instead.

You can use the [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR] short code on a single page instead, and it will show the ticket info for that event.

or, since you only have one event, [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] will work, and can be configured by changing the event listing page options.

Josh,

This answer doesn’t really help. The ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR just displays a list of the tickets. When I show the event using the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode, the text entered in the Edit Event description box shows up under the “Upcoming Date(S) and Time(S) tab rather than under Event Details. The only thing that shows up under Event Details is the Event Phone.

Related to this, my Event Template settings are:
Use Custom Display Order: YES
Display Order: (1) Event Description, (2) Dates and Times, (3) Venue Information and (4) Ticket Selector

If you look at the corresponding event registration page, the output appears in this order: (1) Event Details (without the details), (2) Ticket Options, (3) Upcoming Date(s)…, (4) Event Location.

How do I get this to display correctly? Let me know if you need admin access.

I don’t need admin access. You can also change the Event List Pages options in the template settings. Right now you only have options set for Single Event Pages. The Event List Pages options display on the same page as the Single Event Pages options, but you’ll need to scroll down the page to see them.

Thanks, Josh. That problem is now fixed. Only two to go.
