I am currently using EE4 and while details of events show in the events list, when you click “view details” the page that shows up is blank and contains no place to register. You can see the development site at http://www.testcmediation.org.

Hi,

Can you go to WordPress Settings > Permalinks and just press save. This will flush the permalinks. Please let me know if that works or not.

Hey Dean,
Thank you for the tip and no, it didn’t help.

Hi,

Does your theme have an Events custom Post type or do you have any other event based plugins active currently?

Dean,
No and No. I am wondering if I can get my money back for EE4 as it appears to not work with my theme and the customer support for EE is just to time consuming. I would appreciate more customer service when people can’t get your product working out of the box. I work for a small nonprofit. We don’t have the knowledge or resources to keep playing with this.

Hi Joe,

I’m sorry to hear you are having problems.

As a rule we do not offer refunds for Event Espresso, you can read our refund policy here on the pricing page Here

I’d be more than happy to login and see if I can see what is causing the issue.

However to note if this is found to be a bug within Event Espresso we will fix this asap but if the cause of the problem is due to how the theme is coded we may need to refer you to the theme developer for a fix.

If you could provide temporary login details we can investigate this further, if so please send via https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

*To note both WP-Admin and FTP details would be beneficial as we may need to enable WP_Debug for a short period.

Tony,
I had already sent login credentials to Lorenzo. I am happy to send them to you AND I am already concerned you are going to say it is a theme and the theme people will say it is a plugin and I will be running around in circles like a cat chasing my tail. Hoping that doesn’t happen.

Hi Joe,
I went into the site to start testing on it so Tony would have more to work with when he comes on shift. I moved the EE theming template from plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/templates/Espresso_Arabica_2014 into your theme’s template folder, intending to put some debugging code in, and I couldn’t test it any more because it started working. Check it out and let us know if you have any further concerns.

Sidney,
That was awesome news to find after a long day of meetings. Thank you, I really appreciate this as fixing this is way beyond my knowledge. I am a wanna be techie more than an actual techie. I am really happy this is working. Next, I would like to learn how to edit the events page. Can you point me in the direction of “how to” edit the events page?

Hi Joe,

The pages are currently served through templates. We also have some options to enable/disable certain pieces of information on the templates through WordPress admin –> Event Espresso –> Templates.

What are you trying to change on the page?

On both the list page and the single event page, I would like to remove the “event details” and the little flag icon. Mostly because the type is bigger than the event title. It looks off to me.

There is also room for a side bar and I don’t want one. How do I change that? Here is the link: http://www.testcmediation.org/events/test/

Hi Joe,

Please backup your site and update to EE 4.2.7 (removes the flag) and then we will take a look at removing the sidebar:
