I have courses that run on multiple dates in the year and I want to be able to create an event and link it to a single description page rather than have a page for each event. Essentially I want to create a static page for each course with a description then when I add an event I want to link it to that page. Is this possible? |

Hi mark, How are you today? Sure. You can link to your general event registration page (http://example.com/event-registration/) OR you can use a shortcode for a single event page and link to that page when you want people to register: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#single-events Does that make sense? |

Thanks Garth I will give that a go. |

Hi there! I have a very similar question and your explanation might cover it, but I just want to break it down a little further to be sure. 🙂 Let’s say an event is going to occur multiple times, and each occurrence of the event requires separate registration. Do you need an event page (I’m assuming a custom post type here) for each occurrence of the event, or is it possible to just have one page that all those individual occurrences of the event in either a calendar or list of events would link to instead? And then a whole other set of occurrences of an event could link to another page, etc.? Thank you for your time! |

Hi Nick, Well to me the easiest option would be to mark those particular events with a category, and then create a standard post or page. On that page use the [EVENT_LIST] shortcode with the category identifier and that way it will just list the events from that particular category. You can do the same with the Calendar, it can be set up to just show a single category. One word of caution, EVENT_LIST can be used multiple times in various places and even on the same page, however the calendar can be used in multiple locations but NOT on the same page, it will break if you do. Or as you mention you can use a single post or page (standard, Custom Post Type not required) to show individual events using the SINGLE_EVENT shortcode. Also please make sure that the default event-registration page or whatever it is called on your system is still available and contains the ESPRESSO_EVENTS shortcode. It does NOT have to be available on the menu or anything but the plugin needs that to run so it has to exist. |
