When a user is emailed their confirmation email or sent a payment reminder all the links inside that email are going to http rather then https. By going to http it brings up a “page not found”.

I adjusted all the settings per instructed:https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-sslhttps/

I thought this might have to do with the SSL I purchased from GoDaddy. They said I have a UCC SSL certificate. This means it’s a private certificate and I can put the SSL on up to five domains.

One piece of information that may help. I initially bought an SSL from GoDaddy to protect one domain on the account. However since the domain I wanted to protect was not the primary domain, I had to purchase the up to five domains SSL certificate. So I could cover the primary and one of the other domains. Could this be the problem?

Ultimately all I would like to do is make sure the shortcodes used in the emails, [invoice_link], [payment_url],[event_link], go to https. Then everything will work fine.

Thank you

Hi Michael,

I could be wrong, but it sounds like you missed step 5 on the documentation that you referenced. Can you check to make sure that you have “Force SSL” on those pages?

Hello – I just checked the settings for step 5 and all of them have been correct.

However when I remove “force ssl” on any of the pages from step 5 it works fine. For some reason the shortcodes in the email confirmation or payment reminder are going to http when they should go to https.

I’m no ssl expert but shouldn’t any http page be forced to show it’s https counterpart if told to so?

Hi Michael.

Are you using the WP HTTPs plugin to secure the pages?

Hi Josh – Yes I’m using WP HTTPs: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-https/

You could try the other plugin that’s in that guide. It’s called Better WP security.

Yes, that’s a good idea. I’m going to give that one a shot right now.
