Hi,
It seems the translations for the email short codes aren’t always picked up.
In “includes/functions/email.php” there are strings like //Payment URL and // download link that are not being translated but appear in English in the emails that are sent out as payment reminders from the “Edit Attendee Payment Record” page.
These strings are translated in the regular registration confirmation email however.
I’m using Espresso 3.1.29.1 on WP 3.5. Any suggestions?

Hi Olov,
I installed the Swedish language files, and it doesn’t appear that any of the sample email text translates. Changes to the default email templates can be saved on the Event Espresso>General Settings screens, but since the one on the payment record screen doesn’t have an option to save, I’d recommend creating an email template in the email manager for payment reminders and selecting the Use a pre-existing email option when you send out payment reminders.

@josh: Thanks for checking that out. I’m actually already using a custom template, but that still leaves the short code-generated strings untranslated. E.g: [payment_url] and [invoice_link] are translated in the default email’s, but not with a payment reminder email.
Here’s my custom email text that I’ using for payment reminders, try it and you’ll see what I mean.
Hej [fname] [lname]!
Enligt våra noteringar så har vi ännu inte fått in betalning med belopp [cost] för [event_link].
Vänligen besök [payment_url] för att se betalningsalternativ, eller tag kontak med oss genom att svara på detta mail.
[invoice_link]

@josh: An update: It now seems that the translation of the short code in the custom payment email is working. The only thing I’ve changed is that I’ve modified a few other translations in the .po file. Strange things do happen 🙂
