The Event Espresso critical page shortcode for the Registration Cancelled page could not be configured properly.

Site at http://www.rccompetes.com will not complete the checkout process. Even though critical pages shows page and shortcode OK (green) on all pages. When attempting to purchase I receive the following error on the popup to proceed to registration: “shortcode for the Registration Cancelled page could not be configured properly.”

Please advise on how to correct.

Hi there,

If you go to Event Espresso > General Settings > Critical pages, then click save, does the error go away?

If I do then the error goes away. But during the purchase process I get several errors. E.g. after adding a ticket to the cart when the pop up appears to proceed to registration. at the bottom I get the error message: “The Event Espresso page shortcode for the Registration Cancelled page could not be configured properly.”

Can you attempt to purchase and see them or is there a way for me to send you several screenshots? Or can you tell me how to provide you securely with my login detials?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Not much I can fix without FTP access. Here’s how to fix though:

1) You FTP into the site, or use the Godaddy File manager
2) You browse to the wp-content folder
3) You delete the object-cache.php file

The problems on your website are caused by the way that Godaddy Managed hosting is set up to cache every page. Event Espresso checkout pages need to be served dynamically. The object caching prevents that from happening.

Just sent you the SFTP credentials I see there are several object-cache instances so I will let you fix since you are the experts. Let me know if you need anything else. Great product! and I love how responsive you are.

Hi Jeff,

Did you actually make this edit to the Registration Checkout page about 3 hours ago?

Yes this looks like a change we made after reading a forum post.

Are you seeing the error on your site anymore? You shouldn’t see it, but I should ask just in case.

Cleared the cache and it looks all good now. Thanks for your help!
