Is there a shortcode for showing the entirety of an event on a page? When editing an event, when I click on the “shortcode” button, all I get is the ticket selector shortcode. [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=7]

Also are there individul shortcodes for showing, for example, just the description, etc.?

Hi there,

Is there a shortcode for showing the entirety of an event on a page? When editing an event, when I click on the “shortcode” button, all I get is the ticket selector shortcode. [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=7]

Not currently, the [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR] shortcode is the only shortcode for single events.

Also are there individul shortcodes for showing, for example, just the description, etc.?

No, however events are custom post types which means they are output in the same way your standard posts are, can I ask why you need to break down each individual section using a shortcode?

You can add an individual short code for showing just the description by installing this plugin:

https://wordpress.org/plugins/pagepost-content-shortcode/

Then you put [post-content-sc id="POST_ID"] on a page, replace POST_ID with your event ID.

Thanks Josh, I’ll try the plugin you suggest.

In response to Tony, I just need to take control of how things look on my page. Speaking of which, even when I use the [post-content-sc id=”POST_ID”], the “Register” button is a default gray thing that is not similar to any other button on my site. Can I change that?

I’m sorry, I meant when I use [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR], is there a wy to define the appearance of my button?

Can you link me to the page so I can view the button, EE uses minimal styling so that the output is consistent throughout your site, however if your theme us using special classes for buttons then the EE button will not have those and will need to be manually applied.

You are of course free to output the details however you prefer but do you know you can alter the output of the standard events pages?

You can alter the order of the details output in the standard pages within Event Espresso -> Events -> Templates -> Single Event Pages -> ‘Use Custom Display Order?’

IF your currently using a visual builder for your pages then you’ll find it does not offer the same amount of flexibility as that but it all depends on what you want to change.

Right now, the site is not live. So, unless you are willing to set up ip in your hosts file, I can’t give you access to see the site. If that is not doable, we’ll have to wait on that until the site goes live.

I see your suggestion about the Custom Display Order, but that only changes the order of appearance, not how they appear.

In fact, what I ma doing right now is building my page the way I want and just add the [ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR] for registration purposes.

If you send those details over I’ll take a look, if you’d rather not post on the forums please use support[at]eventespresso.com and include a link to this thread within the email.

Yeah I understand, I just wanted to make sure you knew of the other options before building out your own pages.
