Hello

Purchased EE 4.x today. I think the paint might still be wet ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m new so these naturally might be n00bie.

1) I see there are 2 license keys. When I stalled EE locally it said not to use a key in dev. But I’m seeing a …_FREE key. Should I use the for dev?

2) Again, while config’ing it said something about logs being public. Is there any way around that? .htaccess perhaps?

3) fyi – While config’ing I added a faux State. I then deleted that State. It looked like the Ajax request fired. No errors. But I had to refresh the page to see the deleted State removed. Minor. NBD. Just an fyi. Least of my worries ATM

4) I’m running ServerPress local and am getting this error modal:

“The number of inputs on this page has been exceeded. You cannot add anymore items (i.e. tickets, datetimes, custom fields) on this page because of your servers PHP “max_input_vars” setting.”

When I’m on an Edit Event page. Any thoughts?

5) I’m also having an issue with WP SEO (by Yoast) and EE Events and Venue. I left note in another thread. To be complete with my list, I’m mentioning it here.

Thanks in advance for your help. Let me know if there’s anything else you need to know.

mfs

Hi,

The free key is for the free version of Event Espresso.

The logs are public because they reside in the WordPress uploads folder.

Approximately how many tickets or datetimes are you using per event?

Raising max_input_vars to 2500 will help but if you have a large amount of datetimes or tickets then it could slow down registrations.

At the moment, 10. I haven’t used EE yet. just installed it and did some preliminary testing / learning. Where are all those input vars coming from?

Hi,

That is a combination of the event information that will be saved. It includes datetimes, tickets, questions and question groups, etc.

On shared hosting, you can usually make the notice appear by creating 20+ tickets for an event.

However, that does not sound like the case here.
