Dear Team,
i must use this plugin to share pages on my site https://de.wordpress.org/plugins/shariff/ and it’s working for all pages, apart from all events.
The URL looks like this: /termine/event-registration/?ee=1309
But if I try to share it, it shows only: /termine/event-registration/

the ID is missng “?ee=1309” and for this i can only share the overview page.
I can’t use your plugin because of policy reasons.
Can you help me somehow?
Thanks!
Katharina

Hi Katharina,

The event URLs in Event Espresso 3 are dynamic rather than individual custom post types.

Event Espresso 4 handles this differently as they are custom post types so each event has its own post like this:

example.com/events/my-spring-event/

example.com/events/my-summer-event/

I was going to share feedback on upgrading to Event Espresso 4 but I see that you are using recurring events which are not yet available.

What is the issue that you are having with the social media buttons add-on for Event Espresso 3?

It runs on your own site so it isn’t reporting data to external services until a guest clicks to share the event.

Hi Lorenzon,

EE4 would be great, but you are right, recurring events are important right now.
EE4 and EE3 on one site would be great too 🙂

social media : I can’t use it, because we have for all other posts and pages a share widget at the bottom of the page and with your plugin, we would have two.
and in your case it’s a “like” button, not a share button: https://www.suchhunde-hessen-sued.de/termine/event-registration/?ee=1309
and regarding privacy policy in germany, we want/must use a different solution.

If it’s not possible, i will hide them for the event page somehow…

Hi Katharina,

Its not possible to use other social sharing plugins with EE3, as you’ve found with the above the page you are sharing is the ‘Event Registration’ page which is dynamically populated using the value from the query string which is not expected by those plugins.

If you can not use the EE3 Social plugin I would recommend hiding Shariff on the event registration page.
