Just switched to Event Espresso, having a problem figuring out a way to accomplish some needed discount issues. Doesn’t look like i’ll be able to do them out of the box so I was hoping you could give me some options.
We run Groupons/Living Social every couple of months where we offer workshops/classes for 1-4 people. So each code varies in the amount of Discount it needs to take off of the ‘Total’ of the event registration ranging from $40-$160. Or a code would need to be allowed to be used up to 4 times with a 100% Discount per ticket, guess either way works.
Now we also sell Gift Certificates where 1 code can either be good for 1 or 2 people which needs the same options as the groupons. $40 or $80 off, or 100% off 1 ticket usable twice only.
I would like to make our new Event Espresso system live in the new year but this happens to be the only current issue, as the codes are already sold and out there, and they don’t expire for quite a while so I will have to transfer them to Event Espresso somehow.
The groupon/social coupons add-on has a limited feature set in that it will apply a 100% discount regardless of the price of the event, and each code can only be used in one transaction. We are planning on re-writing the Groupon add-on so that it has more flexibility, but we will not be able to take that on until after Event Espresso 3.2 is released.
Update: The Promotions add-on for Event Espresso 4 is now available. It brings many new features to the table, including the ability to limit the number of uses for each discount code.
