Hi there,

I see event datetimes. It has a spot for a limit.

Datetimes are the instance of the event, so the datetime limit is ‘king’.

You want the datetime limit set to 5, thats the total number of tickets that can be sold for that date.

I see available tickets that has a spot for qty.

Say you had 1 ‘VIP’ ticket available but 4 ‘normal’ tickets, you can have 1 ticket qith a qty of 1, the other ticket with a qty of 4 to allow for that, but sounds like you don’t need this.

What number I put in these spots to make things work.

For a single ticket purchase per orde ryou don’t use either of those settings. In the ‘Event Registration Options’ metabox on the right you’ll have the option ‘Maximum number of tickets allowed per order for this event’, set that to 1.

Now when anyone visits the event page they can only purchase 1 ticket at a time, up to the limit set on the datetime.

I’ve been doing some testing, and when I went to do testing, I registered for the course but did not pay for the course. This is listed as a pending payment registration. Does this pending payment registration make it so only 4 people can now register?

No, pending payment registration do NOT take a ‘sold’ spaces on the event, only ‘Approved’ registrations (if you pay in full using an online payment method, the registration will automatically be approved).

However there is a ticket reservation system in place to prevent overselling, so for ~1 hour when that ticket is selected it will show as reserved, so the total remaining tickets will show as 1 less, until that ticket is paid for or released back for sale.
