Hello,

Setting the featured image is no longer working in EE3 events. The “Set Featured Image” link does not appear in the Featured Image box. It only shows an upload button and the popup window only shows media files and an insert into post button.

Adding featured images displays the “Set Featured Image” link and it works normally if I am adding a blog post though so this has something to do with EE3 – Not WordPress.

*I have tried disabling all plugins – That did not work.

*I have reinstalled WordPress -That did not work.

So it must be EE3 causing the problem.

Can you help.

*I have tried using a different WordPress Theme – That did not work.

p.s. “Set Featured Image” worked when I originally installed the EE3 APP in late February. No new plugins have been installed since that time.

Hi Shane, thanks for getting head start on troubleshooting.

Last year I saw this issue appear when there was a bad translation in use. However, I don’t think that is the issue here.

Could you share a temporary login via this link so we can take a closer look?

Hi, there is a draft event that has an image linked to it.

Try these steps:

From the event editor, click on Upload image.

A small window will then appear. Upload the image here or browse to an existing image. Then scroll down and click on insert into post:

From here save changes to the event by clicking on the save button in the event editor.

After the page refreshes, you should see the featured image.

Hi Lorenzo,

Unfortunately, that is not working for any of my existing events.

I tried exactly what you provided on the 1st and 2nd event without success.

Hi Lorenzo,

I have even updated the “Draft Event” you created and the featured image disappeared.

Hi,

I created the test (draft) event in Safari.

What web browser are you using and does it work with a different web browser?

For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, could you try Chrome, Firefox, or Opera?

Hi Lorenzo,

It does not work for me in Chrome either.

I click the upload button, select an image from the popup window, click the insert button and then hit the update button and nothing happens.

Hi, I have a question about your last step.

It sounds like you are able to upload and attach it. What about saving?

Does the event save when you click on the Update Event button?

Hi Lorenzo,

I can upload but it won’t save after I “Update” the event.

Even after I upload it only a broken image square or question mark appears in the featured image space. There is no Save Button only the Update Button.

Why is the “Set Featured Image” link missing in Event pages when they are present on normal WordPress Posts.

Hi Lorenzo,

Can you take another look at it?

*alternatively, is there a way we can link a featured image to an event via the mySQL database? There must be a table where this is done.

We have to launch the event ticket sales quite soon.

Thank you

Hi, could you try this out on another computer to see if it works? Or could you try with the temporary login that you shared with us?

Hi Lorenzo,

Using a different computer does not work but using the temporary login I gave you does. I am not sure how that is considering I am the administrator of the website.

Any thoughts why?

Thanks

Hi,

Did you recently try any membership plugins or a plugin that manages user roles?

A roles plugin may have been used at one time.

I created a new Administrator Level account and I am using that for now. Is it possible to change the default administrator from the old account to the new one?

Hi, you can remove an account and WordPress will prompt you to associate that information with an existing account.
