Hi there, Is this possible now? I think it really should, because it’s so annoying to select every group manually when creating a new event. I think it’s an unnecessary source of error. It would be perfect if you can just select different groups which are always selected by default. |
Hi there, We don’t have an option within EE to set default question groups, but you can check all groups by default with a little jQuery. Do you want all the question groups to be check by default on both the Primary and additional registrant sections or just the Primary? |

sorry, but what are “primary” and “additional” registrant sections? |
Hi, This screenshot shows the primary and additional registrant sections: |

I’m not sure if I need the additional registrants section. I don’t quite understand it 🙂 So regarding to Tonys question: I think I’m fine with pre-selecting the primary registrant sections. Just because I’m curious: Why is it not possible to have an option to set one ore more sets to be checked by default? Isn’t this something most of your users would need? thanks again |
When you select say 5 tickets, you have 1 primary registration and 4 additional registrations. Now let’s say you want to ask a set of additional billing questions, you would only ask those to the primary registrant, once, for the entire group. So EE allows you to set questions groups that are specific to the primary registrant (the first set of registration questions) and then specific groups for any additional registrations.
In that case, you can use something like this: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/8f7331ef2e418ab1bd0e26716e1eb1d0 You can add that to a custom functions plugin on your site, we have some documentation on creating one here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/
It’s not that it’s not possible to have the option. EE doesn’t have that option currently and it’s not something we can provide with a snippet as core would need to modified to allow for it. Our development time is currently focused on the Recurrent Events Manager and whilst we have had a few requests for this it has not been many so as it stands its not something have plans to add. With the current EE set up, it’s expected that each new event will require some setup and that includes dates for datetime/tickets, questions etc. |
