Is there a way to turn the “Send Related Messages” selection to yes by default? I don’t want to have to change it for every single registration.

If so you can use this snippet:
https://github.com/eventespresso/ee-code-snippet-library/blob/master/admin/tw_ee_reg_status_change_form_send_notifications_default.php
You’ll need to place that within a custom functions plugin for it to work.

Thank you! I’m working on a child theme so I can add a few custom EE filters, so I’ll try it out.
