I need to create and send a custom email to all approved registrants. How can I create this and then send it?

Hello,

You can find the send batch email feature by going to Event Espresso –> Events and then hovering over the name of an event and clicking on Registrations.

The next page will show you a list of registrants. You can select the ones that you would like to message and then scroll down to the end of the page and click on the Send batch message button (https://cl.ly/3b0n473W3e0y).

A popup will appear where you can select the global option and then type out a message and then send it.

I tried to do this but I am getting an error when selecting to send to multiple people.

Sending a single email works though.

The error is as follows:
An EE_Error exception was thrown! code: EEM_Base – _do_wpdb_query – 1919
“WPDB Error occurred, but no error message was logged by wpdb! The wpdb method called was “insert” and the arguments were “array ( 0 => ‘wp_esp_extra_meta’, 1 => array ( ‘OBJ_ID’ => 16, ‘EXM_type’ => ‘Message’, ‘EXM_key’ => ‘MSG_generation_data’, ‘EXM_value’ => ‘a:50:{i:379;O:15:”EE_Registration”:8:{s:42:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_props_n_values_provided_in_constructor”;a:16:{s:6:”REG_ID”;s:3:”379″;s:6:”EVT_ID”;s:5:”11721″;s:6:”ATT_ID”;s:5:”11925″;s:6:”TXN_ID”;s:3:”285″;s:6:”TKT_ID”;s:2:”10″;s:6:”STS_ID”;s:3:”RAP”;s:8:”REG_date”;s:19:”2016-02-08 19:23:00″;s:15:”REG_final_price”;s:6:”31.200″;s:8:”REG_paid”;s:6:”31.200″;s:11:”REG_session”;s:32:”f97e454d630ed48523989ab42f6f9fea”;s:8:”REG_code”;s:13:”285-10-3-eeba”;s:12:”REG_url_link”;s:34:”3-eeba0c58a4379a3d5e1f0c431f3a3341″;s:9:”REG_count”;s:1:”3″;s:14:”REG_group_size”;s:1:”5″;s:16:”REG_att_is_going”;s:1:”0″;s:11:”REG_deleted”;s:1:”0″;}s:12:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_timezone”;s:16:”America/New_York”;s:11:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_dt_frmt”;s:6:”F j, Y”;s:11:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_tm_frmt”;s:5:”g:i a”;s:21:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_cached_properties”;a:0:{}s:19:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_model_relations”;a:12:{s:5:”Event”;N;s:8:”Attendee”;N;s:11:”Transaction”;N;s:6:”Ticket”;N;s:6:”Status”;N;s:6:”Answer”;a:0:{}s:7:”Checkin”;a:0:{}s:20:”Registration_Payment”;a:0:{}s:7:”Payment”;a:0:{}s:7:”Message”;a:0:{}s:10:”Extra_Meta”;a:0:{}s:10:”Change_Log”;a:0:{}}s:10:”‘ . “\0” . ‘*’ . “\0″ . ‘_fields”;a:16:

How many registrations are you selecting in one go when sending the batch email?

We had another user report the same error when selecting batches of around 50 registrations at once, but would work with around 30.

If you try triggering the emails in batches of around 30 does it work then?

We have an open ticket to investigate this further however to send out your batch emails now you will currently need to break the batches down into smaller groups until we find a fix for the above.

I tried these in batches of 100 first though, then 50.

Yes, sending in batches of 30 worked. Thanks.

There’s a fix for the issue reported here, and it’s included in Event Espresso 4.9.16.p.
