Hello

We have Event Espresso – 4.10.8.p

If we set the default registration status as Pending Payment and someone registers a number of attendees on one registration, the event esspresso email only gets sent to the Primary Registrant – we would like it to go to all the attendees on the registration. Is there a way of doing this in the message defaults?

We could set the default registration status to Approved to have the email sent to all the attendees on the registration, however we then found we could not filter registrations so we could easily bulk email payment reminders to attendees who have not paid (unless we are missing something here).

Regards, Joe

Hi Joe,

You can’t send the Pending Payment email to all registrants and the reason for this is ‘Primary Registrant’ is the registrant that EE considers to the be the one managing the group registration to pay for all.

Each individual registrant in a group can’t make a payment specifically for their own registration in that group and I think that is what you are trying to do above, correct?

We could set the default registration status to Approved to have the email sent to all the attendees on the registration, however we then found we could not filter registrations so we could easily bulk email payment reminders to attendees who have not paid (unless we are missing something here).

It is possible to filter registration based on the transaction status, for example you can filter for ‘Approved registrations with incomplete transactions’ with the help of an additional snippet on the site. However, the same still applies above in that even if you set them to approved and filter down to each registrant they can’t split the payments up into individual payments in the group.

Thanks Tony

Sometimes when our attendees register in a group, the person that is imputted first (ie who ends up the primary attendee), is not always the person that ends up arranging payment (or who ends up actually attending – sometimes they are replaced). We were just wanting to ensure everybody in the group would see/having access to details of the registration and the invoice at the outset.

So we could set to Approved and then include the snippet you mentioned that would allow us to filter for Approved and incomplete. I guess we could also include a snippet that would allow filtering for approved and pending and maybe also allow to filter Approved together with pending and incomplete? So the goal would be to be able to send bulk reminders to those that have not paid.

I did notice with EE3 though that when you set the registration to “Complete” (which I guess is the equivalent in EE4 to “Approved”), even if it has not been paid for, the attendee is not able to pay through EE3 using a credit card. You have to set the registration back to “Pending” and then the attendee can pay. Would we face the same issue if we set registrations to approved in EE4?

Regards

Joe

Ok, so adding this snippet to your site:

https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/22995de5472c46a361ecc206bc8e9f9b

Will include a ‘Select TXN Status’ dropdown in the Event Espresso -> Registration list table. You can also use that with any of the existing filters.

You can add that to a custom functions plugin and we have some documentation on creating one here:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/create-site-specific-plugin-wordpress-site/

That should help with the above situation, you can also include the link to pay directly within the Registration Approved email if needed?

Would we face the same issue if we set registrations to approved in EE4?

No, the registration status doesn’t matter in terms of payment options in EE4.
