Has anyone got a useful case study for using Event Espresso to manage online (virtual) events that do not need date times? Obviously this year my client has had to cancel a lot of their workshops and has therefore recorded some classes for sale. However, because they are available on-demand, we are not quite finding the right way to manage the bookings with Event Espresso. Plus each event comes with the option to purchase a kit at home to use alongside the class. I am managing this through different ticket types but it is a little messy, so I wondered if you had a good suggestion for this? I feel like I might have to switch over to woocommerce for this, but really don’t want to have to. Any suggestions for keeping all in the EE eco-system? Thanks! |

Hi mpurse,
How are you storing the classes and granting access to them? I don’t mean within EE itself but rather what would purchase a ticket/access within EE give access to so they can view the class? Zoom on-demand?
Without using ticket options you could use a 3rd party add-on to add values to questions. Meaning you have questions on the registration form that if selected add X value to the registration. Take a look here: http://aparnascodex.com/downloads/price-modifier-for-event-espresso-4/ Would that work for you? |

I’ll take a look at the plugin, that looks really helpful, thanks. We are using a password protected page on the website that hosts videos to give access to the class. |

So would including the password for that page in the registration email work for this? You could set up the event to use a custom field for the password and then have a ‘On Demand’ Registration Approved custom message template with additional details on how to gain access to the page which then pulls the password (and the link if you want) from custom values and includes them in the email. That way you can use a single message template for all of the ‘On demand’ types of events and the relevant password would be included in the email. Make sense? |

Yes, I am doing that. It’s not requiring the date that is the issue. I currently have it so that it shows as appearing each month, but it could be anytime. So not quite sure how to get around that. |

Appears each month where? How are you displaying it on the site? Generally what we recommend for this is to set the Event Dates to something far into the future, 2050 for example so it’s not easily viewed on the calendar etc. Then remove the DateTime output from the custom message template and use some CSS to hide the dates on the front end of the site within the event. |

Showing it here: https://www.thegoodlifecentre.co.uk/diy-drills-on-demand-online-workshop/ It’s probably the best we can do right now. I’ve installed that plugin you recommended for the extras and found that to be perfect for the job. Thanks! |

So they register onto the event for the on-demand (Workshop) videos and it’s the live Q&A that is set on a schedule? If so I think you’re right and what you have now is about the closest you’ll get.
Great! I’m glad that works for you 🙂 |
