My client is selling just three items associated with their courses. The solution I have come up with is to create one event called Merchandise with its own category of “merchandise”. On this event, I have three ticket types, each for one item they are selling. I have also successfully excluded this category from calendar and other places. You can see this ticket at: https://academyoftea.org/events/merchandise/

This is not live yet.

The only problem left is to charge shipping for these. If I add a surcharge to items, it will be added to EACH item and will keep adding up unreasonably if someone buys multiple items. Now, is there a clever way to add just ONE shipping charge to any combination of items bought from this ticket? Of course, this will have to be based on a formula. For example, a flat rate of $8.00 plus 2% of the total price, or something like that.

I’m just thinking you might have a solution that I cannot think of.

Hello Kamran,

As you know, EE does not have support for selling products like a “normal” eCommerce solution would have. So, you are going about it the best possible way with EE. I’m not sure of a way to charge shipping with the rate being a percentage of the total price. One thing you could do is create a ticket that is required and make that one the “shipping ticket”. You set the ticket to required by clicking on the ticket settings (gear) button.

The only thing about doing it this way is that you won’t be able to set a percentage, only a flat rate.

Didn’t think there would be a way.
Thanks for thinking about it, anyway.
